Debuting in 2014, the MT-09 is a naked model powered by a cross-plane 846cc liquid-cooled, parallel three-cylinder engine. It gained popularity for its new styling and nimble mobility, combining elements of a supermotard and a streetfighter, and has continued to change with the times with the adoption of LED lights in 2017, an assist and slipper clutch, compliance with 2021 exhaust gas regulations, and electronic control with a quick shifter and 6-axis IMU. The front mask has continued to change with the times.
The front mask, which makes a significant impression each time it is changed, is also impressive.
The new model, the fourth major model change, features a new headlight and tank design with an edgier style. The new model also features the square lights of the YZF-R1, further changing the impression of the bike.
In terms of functionality, the handlebar position and step position have been revised, and cruise control and a back slip regulator (BSR) have been newly adopted. The new model offers even greater controllability. New equipment includes a 5-inch full-color TFT LCD meter. These specification changes are under the overseas specifications unveiled at the Milano show in the fall of 2023.
The color lineup includes three colors: a chic cyan and gray "dark gray," a racy "blue," and a calm "matte dark gray. The motorcycle will be released on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, for (approx.) 8464 USD, up 742 USD from the previous model.
Annual sales volume is expected to be 500 units. The MT-09 SP, a higher-end model that has been on the market in parallel with the MT-09, is also scheduled to be updated, but this will be announced in the summer.
