Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. will release a minor-changed version of its large naked sport MT-07 ABS. In line with the European version released last year, the new model features a full-color LCD meter and a smartphone linkage function. The handlebar position has also been revised, and a quick shifter is now available as an option.
It will be released on March 22, 2024 (Friday) in three color variations and will be priced at (approx.) 5843 USD, up 292 USD from the previous model.

The MT-07, released in 2014, is a model in the street-fighter-style MT series equipped with a DOHC parallel twin-cylinder engine of the cross-plane concept that shares its basic design with the XSR700 and YZF-R7. The model has undergone a series of specification changes, including compliance with emission regulations and the introduction of a single ABS model, but the 2021 model change will bring a major styling transformation. The new model features projector headlamps with full LED lighting and an upright tapered bar handle for improved controllability, making it a more agile model for street riding.
With the model change, the conventional inverted LCD meter has been replaced by a square-type 5-inch TFT full-color display. The background theme can be selected from two patterns: touring or street. The newly adopted Y-Connect smartphone integration function displays incoming phone calls and battery levels in the meter. Y-Connect can also be used to check the vehicle's mileage, fuel consumption, and parking position, enabling centralized management of motorcycle-related information on a smartphone.
Performance remains unchanged, but the grip position on the handlebars has been revised and the height increased by 10 mm. Three color variations are available: dark gray, blue, and matte dark gray. The base color remains the same, but the logo design and accents have been changed to create a new impression. The 688cc liquid-cooled, parallel twin-cylinder engine delivers 73 PS at 8,750 rpm. The engine has easy-to-manage torque characteristics from low speeds, enabling smooth riding.
The lights and engine are the same as before, but the handlebars have been reshaped and the grip position has been raised from the previous design.
