The Monkey 125, which inherited the beloved form, is expected to change. It is expected to come in a new color with minor changes to the tank and seat.
Will it be released in the summer as a 2025 model?

Egg-shaped tanks to get closer to the atmosphere of the original Monkey?

The Monkey 125 was introduced in July 2018, replacing the Monkey (50) that was discontinued in 2017. It inherited the lovely form while gaining a practical size and driving performance. Since its launch, it has continued to sell well.

The 2022 model, released in September 2021, uses a new 5-speed transmission + long-stroke engine and complies with emission regulations. The current model, released in September 2023, has the main color scheme centered on the frame and swing arm.
A checkered pattern was adopted for the seat seat.

Up to now, there have been no changes to the exterior, only color changes. However, the 2025 model, which will mark the seventh year of its appearance, will be the first model to undergo a rework, with the fuel tank and seats likely to be changed to a simpler design.

The current model's fuel tank is slightly angular at the front and rear, but the new model will be more rounded and egg-shaped. The new model will look more like the original Monkey 50 and will be even cuter. The capacity of the 5.6-liter fuel tank is unknown.

As for the seats, the current checkered pattern on the tuck-roll seats will be replaced by plain tuck-roll seats with white piping remaining. In addition, the shape of the seat is likely to be more curved back and forth.

This is the current model. Compared with the CG above, the tank is trapezoidal and the seat is flat.

Three color schemes, gray, red, and silver, all new colors?

The body colors will be replaced, and all appear to be new colors. The new colors are Pearl Cadet Gray, Millennium Red 2, and Scene Silver Metallic. The current Banana Yellow, Pearl Nebula Red, and Pearl Shining Black are said to be discontinued.

The current model features the outer forks, frame, swingarm, and rear spring painted in their respective colors, rather than the tank. This is also the case with the new models. The new gray and red models share the same white tank and are differentiated by the color of the frame and other parts. However, only the silver color appears to have a black tank.

The announcement will be made around June, and it will likely go on sale around July, the same time as the 2025 Dax 125, which we scooped in a separate article. The price is yet to be determined, but we would be happy if it stays the same.

In addition, the new model is likely to add a shift indicator, USB power supply, narrow-wound grip heaters, saddlebags, and other OEM-installed options. Incidentally, its sibling, the Grom, will also get a new look when it goes on sale on March 14, 2024. The headlight covers, shrouds and side covers will be updated with a sportier design. The Monkey is also expected to undergo a refinement in step with these changes.

Is Millennium Red 2 the same color as the Millennium Red used on the 2012 PCX150, 2017 CBR250R, etc.? The front and rear fenders would have the same plated finish as the current model.

Pearl Cadet Gray is a chic color used on the current Dax 125 and past Super Cub C125s.

The scene Silver Metallic introduces a black tank. It will be the most sibilant combination of the new colors.

This is a 2005 Monkey (50). Like the new model, it has a white tank, painted frame and swingarm, and a plain tuck roll seat with white piping. Is this the motif of the new model?
