Philipp Steinmayr is preparing to bring his FIM Endurance World Cup title-winning pedigree to No Limits Motor Team in 2024 following what represents a double switch for the talented Austrian rider.

As well as joining a new outfit, having previously raced for Team 18 Sapeurs Pompiers CMS Motostore in the EWC, Steinmayr is swapping Yamaha for Honda power. However, he will continue to count on tyres from Dunlop, the EWC Superstock category’s official tyre supplier.

The 2022 FIM Endurance World Cup winner said: I wanted to have a change and I’m really looking forward to trying the Honda. I’ve never ridden this bike so it will be interesting.I have a really good feeling about the team, they have been on the podium two times last season and, from the outside, it’s looking good, and it seems like they’re working really well. Also, the bike is capable of winning races, which for sure is a positive aspect.

After achieving so much success in the Superstock-based FIM Endurance World Cup in 2022, back-to-back DNFs in the 24 Heures Motos and 24H SPA EWC Motos made for a tough start to the 2023 season, according to Steinmayr.

It was a little bit frustrating but we had a good end to the season with second place in the Bol d’Or so we could prove we were still capable, the 30-year-old said. Now I just hope we can kick off the new season with a good finish in Le Mans. My team-mates are also very strong, we have a good package but always in the 24-hour races you need a bit of luck. I hope we will have it and kick off good and then we will see. But for sure we are capable of winning.

Steinmayr joins forces with existing No Limits Motor Team riders Lorenzo Gabellini, from Italy, and Frenchmen Alexis Masbou and Johan Nigon (above) for the upcoming FIM Endurance World Cup season. The squad finished sixth in the final 2023 FIM Endurance World Cup ranking after placing third in the Superstock-based category in both the 24 Heures Motos and the 24H SPA EWC Motos.

The Italian No Limits Motor Team stated: We are very glad to announce that in 2024 we will continue our journey with Alexis, Johan and Lorenzo. And we are more than happy to welcome Philipp in the No Limits family. Let's rock this season together.

Masbou (below) said: I’m happy to be able to announce my extension with the No Limits Motor Team. The crew members remain the same with Lorenzo and Johan, but thanks to the new regulations [allowing four riders to race in each Superstock team in the two 24-hour events], the team will be strengthened by Philipp Steinmayr. Honda will stay by our side for what hopefully will be an amazing 2024 season.

Meanwhile, Steinmayr will combine his EWC campaign with a season in the Internationale Deutsche Motorradmeisterschaft riding for the BCC-alpha-Van Zon-BMW squad. He finished sixth in the final IDM Superbike standings in 2023.
