Honda is likely to release a 400X learner's vehicle version to replace the discontinued CB400 SuperFour learner's vehicle version. It is believed to be a candidate since it is the only liquid-cooled up-handle model in the current 400cc lineup.

Is it a specification with improved footing over the public road version?

With the CB400 Super Four being discontinued at the end of October 2022, the lineup of training vehicles for regular motorcycle licenses has now been cut off. The number of people who have passed the standard motorcycle license exam has been growing from 2017 to 2021, and the supply of new training vehicles is urgently needed to keep this momentum going.

Honda is making a move in this situation, with two up-handle models to choose from: the GB350/S and the 400X. The air-cooled GB seems to have dropped out of the candidates and the 400X learner's car version is expected to debut. Pre-orders are expected to have already begun, and it will probably go on sale after April 2024.

What is interesting is that the 2024 model 400X is set to be remodeled as the NX400.
Honda has announced that a 400cc version of the NX500 announced in Europe will be launched in Japan, likely in late April, so it would be natural for the training-spec model to be based on the NX400.

Even if the NX400 becomes a learner's car, the engine and chassis are the same, so the maneuverability of the front 19 inches will remain the same.
However, the 800mm seat height of the 400X will be lowered in the learner's car version, which should reduce the degree of difficulty. We will bring you further information as soon as it becomes available.
