French squad Honda Viltaïs Racing put the EWC Independent Trophy beyond doubt by finishing a fine overall runner-up in the FIM Endurance World Championship season-deciding Bol d’Or.

The performance at Circuit Paul Ricard followed on from the team’s dramatic maiden Bol d’Or victory 12 months previously – when it also secured the EWC Independent Trophy – and signalled the completion of a strong first season of Viltaïs Racing using the Honda CBR1000R-R.

Yannick Lucot’s outfit top scored in three of the four rounds to finish with a commanding margin over Team 33 Louit April Moto, the FIM Endurance World Cup title winner.

Yamaha-powered KM99, an EWC newcomer in 2023, was the best EWC Independent Trophy finisher in the 24H SPA EWC Motos. The Belgian team’s capture of 40 points in its home event was key to it finishing third in the final points standings followed by Motobox Kremer Racing, National Motos Honda and Maco Racing.
