KTM has unveiled the new 1390 SUPER DUKE R/EVO (1390 Super Duke R/EVO). The engine has been enlarged from the 1290 Super Duke R that debuted in 2013, and the name has been updated to 1390. The new face design with two vertical lamps also makes a big impact.
THE BEAST Evolves Even More Radically
As the DUKE series celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2024, the flagship model evolves into the new 1390 Super Duke R and becomes even more extreme. Displacement has been increased from 1301 cc to 1350 cc, and PS has been increased from 180 PS to 190 PS.
The new model also pursues a power-to-weight ratio of 1:1.
The camshafts are new, and a variable valve mechanism is used on the intake side. Two different valve lifts are utilized depending on rpm, adding power and torque throughout the entire range.
In addition, a new air intake and airbox increase the fuel tank capacity by 1.5 liters to 17.5 liters.
The cruising range reaches 300 km.
The chassis is based on the frame used for the 2020 model change, and the R has an improved suspension. The EVO continues to use semi-active suspension. The brakes are Brembo Stylema monoblock calipers up front paired with 320 mm-diameter discs.
The most noticeable change is in the styling, with the alien-looking headlights weighing 700 g less. The two vertical main lights are flanked by position and daytime running lights.
The tank spoiler and wing red also generate downforce, making it look and drive more extreme.
