Yamaha unveiled the new PG-1 in Thailand and now in Vietnam. Unique color variations and engine specs were also revealed.
Orange and green added
Yamaha's new PG-1 is now available in Vietnam. The basic configuration remains the same, but the Vietnamese version is now available in six colors, compared to four in Thailand, and orange and green have been added.
Also, the Vietnamese version has chrome rims, unlike the black ones in Thailand.
The maximum output of the PG-1, which was not disclosed in the Thai specifications, is 6.6 kW (9 PS)/7000 rpm, so it is even with the CT125 Hunter Cub's 9.1 PS/6250 rpm. Maximum torque, on the other hand, is 0.96 kg-m/5500 rpm, which seems more generous than the 1.1 kg-m/4750 rpm Hunter Cub. The specs are similar to the Cross Cub with 8PS and 0.9kg-m.
Since the PG-1 is reportedly compliant with emission regulations equivalent to Euro 3, there are currently no plans to introduce it to Japan. However, if there is a large demand for it, it may be introduced after complying with the regulations in the same way as the XSR125 and other models. We look forward to the appearance of an option other than Honda.
