From the Webike Community's My Bike, the "Owner Review Summary" introduces various motorcycles based on the voices of owners who actually ride or have ridden them. This time, here's what the owners have to say about Husqvarna「TE250」.
To be honest, the Husqvarna "TE250" is this kind of bike!
The TE250 is Husqvarna's enduro racer. It is basically sold as a competition-only vehicle, but it is also a maniacal model that can be ridden on public roads.
Husqvarna is a Swedish general machinery manufacturer that began producing motorcycles in the early 1900s. The company achieved much success in the motocross and enduro worlds but sold its motorcycle division in the 1980s. Since then, the parent company has changed several times, but today the brand is one of the brands owned by KTM.
Currently, KTM's off-road division has three brands: KTM, Husqvarna, and Gas Gas. While sharing the basic parts of engines and frames, they have distinct characters with different power characteristics and suspensions, and each has its appealing machines to offer to the market.
The frame of the TE250, for example, is similar in major cradle parts to that of the KTM 250 EXC250, the base machine. However, whereas the 250 EXC has a Thriller seat rail integrated with the frame, the TE250's seat rail is separate and is a hybrid of aluminum frame and plastic components. Lightweight and supple, the high-bred seat rail has a significant impact on ride quality. Turning to the suspension, the 250 EXC's rear suspension is linkless, while the TE250 uses a bottom-link system.
These differences in the chassis are common to all successive generations of the TE250 since it became part of KTM. Generally speaking, the 250 EXC rides more like a motocrosser and is harder, while the TE250 is softer and less tiring. Although it is a matter of taste, some say that the TE250 is easier to handle in enduro races, which have sections with gullies and concrete obstacles, than in motocross races, which are run on dirt and have short competition times.
The engine is a liquid-cooled single-cylinder 2-stroke with a displacement of 249 cc.
With twice as many explosions as a 4-stroke engine at the same rpm, the 2-stroke engine is sure to have a higher output for the same displacement. Although specifications such as maximum output have not been disclosed for the TE250, which is a competition-only model, there is no doubt that it is much more powerful than models with 4-stroke single-cylinder engines in the same 250cc class. The TE250 produces a lot of torque from the low to mid-RPM range, and at high RPM, it delivers a powerful, penetrating power.
One of the equipment contributing to such engine characteristics is the injection of the intake system. It has been considered difficult to convert a 2-stroke engine to an injection system, but the TE250 has adopted injection since the 2018 model year. The system has matured over the years and is very highly regarded.
In the past, competition-only vehicles with 2-stroke engines were usually lubricated with a mixture of gasoline and 2-stroke engine oil in advance. The TE250 uses a separate lubrication system in which fuel and engine oil are lubricated separately, eliminating the time and effort required to make the troublesome gasoline mixture.
It has a soft-feeling chassis and a powerful 2-stroke engine with separate fueling for ease of use.
The TE250 is an enduro racer that has "everything" you could want.

It should be noted that the car received a high rating of over 4.5 points for driving and looks.
According to user reviews, the lightweight chassis and powerful riding performance were highly evaluated, and many users also said that the car is just cool.
On the other hand, the lowest rating among the six items was load ability, but since it is an enduro model built for competition, it does not seem to be seen as a shortcoming.

TE250 Owner's Voice
Here are some of the most impressive voices among the many reviews.
HIROBOU (2020 Model)
Motive for purchase, intended use, and comparative models | An endangered 2-stroke motorcycle was revived with injection, so I changed it to a CRM250R and bought it. |
---|---|
Advantages/Satisfactory points | The Husq is easy to handle with overwhelming power and the latest technology of 2-stroke injection. The newest technology, 2-stroke injection, which allows the engine to start idling even though it is a 2-stroke engine. I chose Husq because I prefer a link suspension to KTM's linkless rear suspension. |
Disadvantages/Dissatisfactory points | The foot grounding is not good even if the ride height is lowered. Also, very expensive body price by domestic comparison. The Magna's front brake discs are not floating, so there is a squeaking and scraping sound, but it is not a problem for functionality. |
Advice for prospective buyers | I think it has more power than the KTM250EXC-TPI, with a link-type rear suspension for better tracking and a plastic rear subframe, which is lighter and has a larger air cleaner capacity. I think it is better than KTM's 6 days. It also has a history of transmission oil leakage. I think it may be a structural defect, so it would be better to check before purchase. |
GUN (2020 Model)
Motive for purchase, intended use, and comparative models | I was curious about a 2-stroke bike that I thought was extinct, but I found out that there was a newer model with injection overseas, and I bought it because it was for sale as an ideal motard bike in a private sale. |
---|---|
Advantages/Satisfactory points | 2-stroke sound, lightness of the vehicle, and acceleration The 2-stroke engine with the latest type of injection overcame the weaknesses of the old 2-stroke engine, and the fuel consumption is over 20 liters per liter (about 15 when you turn it around). |
Disadvantages/Dissatisfactory points | It's a racer, so there's no way around it, but the fuel capacity is low. The carrier can't be installed, so it can't carry luggage, but if you add an Enduristan saddlebag, overnight touring is no problem. |
Advice for prospective buyers | I can't say for sure since it hasn't been that long since I bought it. So far I have not had any major problems, and the only problem I have had is that the bolt that holds the spring for the side stand came off and the parts around it were missing, so the side stand would not come up. |
Tatsuya (2016 Model)
Motive for purchase, intended use, and comparative models | It is for beginners, but I started competing in enduro races and felt the YAMAHA WR250R was too heavy. I stopped riding on the street and decided to switch to a 2-stroke competition bike, so I bought a TE250. |
---|---|
Advantages/Satisfactory points | It is complete and can be played with more than enough even in standard. Although it is a 2-stroke model, it has good low-speed torque. It weighs less than the 4-stroke trail model. Even in a situation where it seems like it is going to fall over, it will get back up on its own. The light weight of the bike makes it easy to support, and as a result, the number of falls is reduced. The standing position is just right for tall people. The use of both a cell and a kick makes it safe. |
Disadvantages/Dissatisfactory points | The high seat height makes it difficult to get a good foot grounding. The cell is a retrofitted mechanism until this model year, so the cell sometimes needs maintenance. The throttle is light and very responsive, so if a beginner makes a mistake in operating the throttle in the standard condition, he or she will see a glimpse of heaven. |
Advice for prospective buyers | It is easy to ride and can be recommended as a first-time endurance. If you are not sure about injection, or if you are worried about not having a kick, we recommend the ~2016 model year. If you think "mixing is too much trouble" or "all you need is a cell," go for the 2020~ |
