KM99’s has assembled an all-French line-up for its second season in the FIM Endurance World Championship.
The Yamaha-powered Belgian team, an EWC newcomer in 2023, will count on Randy de Puniet and Jérémy Guarnoni, in addition to existing rider Florian Marino, as it bids to make more progress in the headlining Formula EWC category following an impressive debut effort.
Former MotoGP racer de Puniet, 42, joins KM99 from Team Kawasaki Webike Trickstar, while Guarnoni, part of the Team SRC Kawasaki France entry that won the 2018-19 EWC title, switches from BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team, with whom the 30-year-old claimed victory in the 24H SPA EWC Motos in 2022.
They replace Bastien Mackels and Lucas Mahias, who helped KM99 to 10th place in the FIM Endurance World Championship for Teams in 2023.
KM99 Team Owner Gaëtan Schyns said: I am extremely pleased to welcome Randy and Jérémy to our team for the 2024 season. With Florian, we have assembled three top-level riders, demonstrating our determination to compete with the best teams. I warmly welcome them and am convinced that we will achieve great things together.
KM99 Team Manager Mario Kupper said: The 2023 season was a period of learning and challenges for us. We approach 2024 with more maturity and confidence. We are thrilled to continue with Florian Marino, a consistent performer from last year. He will undoubtedly be a leading rider again this year.
After Luca's [Mahias] departure, forming a cohesive trio was crucial. I am delighted to welcome Randy de Puniet and Jérémy Guarnoni to the KM99 team. Their arrival reflects the seriousness and ambitions of our project. With the ongoing support from Yamaha and Dunlop, we are eager to hit the track for the first tests and begin this new collaboration.
KM99 is planning a pre-season testing programme in Spain in March ahead of the 2024 EWC getting under way at Le Mans with the 24 Heures Motos from 18-21 April.
