Yamaha has announced the Ténéré 700 Explorer in Europe. The long suspension stroke Ténéré 700 Extreme was just announced in October, but this time it is a low-seat version.

Seat height down 15mm from 875 to 860mm

The Ténéré 700 Explore has been added to the Ténéré 700, the most off-road-oriented of the adventure tourers. The Ténéré 700 Explorer is an unusually low-riding model for the Ténéré 700, which has been adding hardcore models such as rally and big-tank models to its lineup.

The directional design lowers the seat height to 860mm, making it easy for anyone to discover the "Next Horizon". The front suspension stroke has been shortened from 210 to 190 mm and the rear axle travel from 200 to 180 mm to lower the seat height by 15 mm for easier entry.

Pannier case stays are standard equipment, and both front and rear suspension spring rates have been increased to accommodate more stable handling when fully loaded.
In addition, the screen area has been enlarged by 50%, making this new variation suitable for long on-road touring.

In Japan, the Ténéré 700 Low is available with a low-down link that lowers the seat height by -18 mm and a low seat by -20 mm, for a total of 38 mm, while the Ténéré 700 Explorer has a low seat with the suspension itself. This will be the sixth model variation in Europe, but its release in Japan is unlikely.
