Triumph has announced the retail prices and specifications of its middle-naked SPEED 400 and Scrambler 400X in Japan. The Speed 40 will be priced at (approx.) 4654 USD and the Scrambler 400X at (approx.) 5253 USD.
Both are available in three color variations and are scheduled to go on sale in January 2024.
Following the recently announced Harley X350, this new model can be driven with a regular motorcycle license, making it a machine that will attract the attention of beginners and veterans alike.
Equipped with a new 398cc liquid-cooled single engine that delivers 40 PS! Two models to choose from depending on your character
Announced overseas in June 2023, Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X are both middleweight naked models equipped with a new 398cc liquid-cooled single engine of common design.
Both have the same engine specs, with a maximum output of 40 PS at 8,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 38 Nm at 6,500 rpm. However, the styling is differentiated. The Speed 400 is road sport style with 17-inch front and rear wheels. The Scrambler 400X is a scrambler style with 19-inch front wheels and extended front and rear suspension travel for off-road performance. Both models share the same electronic controls, including ride-by-wire throttle, switchable traction control, dual-channel ABS (switchable to off-road mode on the Scrambler 400X), and a torque-assist clutch, typical of the latest models.

Prices for the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X middle-naked models have finally been announced.
These new models are available for less than (approx.) 4660 USD and could be a beginner's first Triumph!
The Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X are the only machines in Triumph's current lineup that can be driven with a regular motorcycle license, and the new models are attracting a lot of attention from Japan. While the information on the overseas release of the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X has been announced one after another, the domestic versions have finally been released, with the Speed 400 priced at (approx.) 4653 USD, less than (approx.) 4660 USD, and the Scrambler 400X at (approx.) 5252 USD, less than (approx.) 5326 USD. This price is the lowest in the lineup. The price, which is not much different from that of the 400cc class models from Japanese manufacturers, is quite reasonable. The recently announced "X350," a middleweight naked from Harley-Davidson, is a direct competitor to the Speed 400 at just 5 USD and is expected to be a strong rival.
The launch date has been announced as January 2024, but an early reservation campaign began today, Monday, October 23, 2012. In addition to early reservations, customers can also receive an original Triumph Thermocafé mug as a free gift. The campaign is now being accepted at authorized Triumph dealers nationwide.

Speed 400 is an on-road-oriented sport naked. With 17-inch wheel sizes front and rear, the wheelbase, seat height, and weight are smaller than those of the Scrambler, and it offers nimble athletic performance.

The Scrambler 400X is equipped with 19-inch front wheels. The wheelbase is longer than that of the Speed 400 at 1,420 mm, the handlebars are wider, and wheel travel has been optimized to enhance off-road riding performance.

Both are powered by the same engine, a newly designed, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder 398cc "TR" engine.
It is a 4-valve DOHC with a 6-speed transmission. Maximum output is 40 PS at 8,000 rpm.

The meter is a simple single digital and analog meter. Basic functions such as a tachometer, speedometer, and shift indicator are provided, and various indicators are integrated into the panel.
