From the Webike Community's My Bike, the "Owner Review Summary" introduces various motorcycles based on the voices of owners who actually ride or have ridden them. This time, here's what the owners have to say about Honda 「CBR1000RR-R Fireblade/SP」
To be honest, the Honda "CBR1000RR-R Fireblade/SP" is this kind of bike!
At the pinnacle of Honda's road sports models is this supersport model, the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade. The CBR1000RR was fully remodeled in 2020 with one more "R" to evolve into the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade. With the concept of "TOTAL CONTROL" for the Track, the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade is equipped with all the equipment and technology needed to win on the track.
The engine, which incorporates the best of Honda's cutting-edge technology, is a liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, DOHC, 4-valve, in-line 4-cylinder 999cc engine that delivers a powerful exhaust, titanium connecting rods, lithium-ion battery, etc. The lightest vehicle in its class, weighing just 201 kg, is the result of these efforts.
If I were to write about the equipment and technology that is designed to win on the circuit, you might get the impression that it is very difficult to ride, but the great thing about the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade is that it is not only fast on the circuit and can be driven as desired, but it is also surprisingly easy to handle on public roads.
Of course, it delivers powerful power when the throttle is wide open, but it also has plenty of mid to low-speed torque, so there is no need to be nervous about throttle work on public roads. It can even be used for touring if you are satisfied with its low load capacity and the low handlebars and back step that give it a supersport-like forward-leaning position.
The CBR series has raised the level of electronic control technology by gaining an electronic throttle from the 2017 model year, and the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade further upgrades the electronic control technology.
It is equipped with a Bosch 6-axis IMU for accurate sensing of vehicle attitude, and the same electronic controls such as Honda Selectable Torque Control (traction control system), ABS, and wheelie control, but with more willful vehicle behavior and body information Evolution.
The degree of engine power and Honda Selectable Torque Control intervention, engine braking, and wheelie control intervention settings can now be set with finer granularity.
The SP is an advanced model with upgraded suspension parts. In addition to the Brembo brake system, the front and rear suspensions are electronically controlled. In addition, it is equipped with Öhlins' second-generation Smart EC system, which maintains performance even under higher loads and allows for more detailed settings for the front and rear suspension.
How do Webike users feel about the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade/SP?

Average price of the new model: (approx.) 18560 USD
Used model price: (approx.) 17573 USD
Number of reviews: 15
Data as of October 13, 2023
Average owner satisfaction score is 3 out of 5.56 (Number of persons evaluated:259 persons)
It should be noted that the driving and looks of the car have received almost perfect scores. The sporty design, performance designed for speed on the track, and the feeling of being able to steer the vehicle as desired by electronic control technology seem to be well received by many owners.
While many items exceeded 3 points, loadability received a low score of 1.86 points. Since it was originally designed for sports use, there is not much space under the seats, and it seems that the structure makes it difficult to install seat bags.
CBR1000RR-R Fireblade/SP, Quick Summary
Advantage
- The more you turn it, the more intense the power.
- The acceleration of the quick shifter feels good.
- Cool. Easy to ride. Less vibration and less numbness in the hands.
- No need for bad customization, maybe?
Disadvantage
- Handlebar hanging angle is hard to even at test ride distance. (It is good on a circuit.)
- My back gets tired when I ride for a long time.
- The blinker is hard to operate, but it's for the track, so it can't be helped.
- Anyway, it is hot!
CBR1000RR-R Fireblade/SP Owner's Voice
Here are some of the most impressive voices among the many reviews.
Ogami (2022 Model)
Motive for purchase, intended use, and comparative models | I was looking for a vehicle to replace my MC51, prefer a full cowl, and enjoy it for long-distance travel for work. |
---|---|
Advantages/Satisfactory points | It accelerates from any gear on mountain roads, highways, and main roads. The electronic control is better than expected and does not intervene excessively. Easy to change attitude, not as harsh as test-ride evaluations suggest. |
Disadvantages/Dissatisfactory points | SP grade is not color-selectable. My preference is white, followed by black. It is not a problem for the application, but if the car is going down a narrow mountain road and the embankment is long at low speed, the car will turn over and the idle will not be stable even after returning to level ground and stalls. When riding on the front side (upper body up), the knee grip points do not grip. Installed a temporary self-made pad. Seat bone hurts when riding for a long time. |
Advice for prospective buyers | It is a fun car to ride. Comparison vehicles at the time of purchase were Panigale V4, 959, Daytona 765, and H2SXSE+. |
Hikky (2022 Model)
Motive for purchase, intended use, and comparative models | The development of high-power engines is expected to be scaled back and circuit driving with the 954RR is getting tougher, so the baton has been changed. The 30th-anniversary release was the deciding factor! |
---|---|
Advantages/Satisfactory points | I like the special 30th tricolor. The serial number is nice. The quick shifter acceleration feels good! Low-speed torque was skimpy, but the 2022 model has updated low and mid-speed. |
Disadvantages/Dissatisfactory points | The handlebar hanging angle is hard even at a test ride distance. (It is good on a circuit). The standard chain rusts quickly. The LED light's illumination range is too narrow. The blinker switch is difficult to operate. The blinker auto-cancel function is not reliable. |
Advice for prospective buyers | Since the acceptance period is over for made-to-order, is it difficult to purchase a new motorcycle in the future? We have no choice but to wait for used ones. Moreover, I don't think the price will go down. |
Private User (2022 Model)
Motive for purchase, intended use, and comparative models | I like SS. I like Honda. I don't know how long I can ride such a bike considering my age now. |
---|---|
Advantages/Satisfactory points | Good looking. Good sound. Operates well. It is as expected. I'm not much of a techie, but it makes me feel like one. I wouldn't say it's easy to ride, but it's not hard to ride, and I think you get used to it. |
Disadvantages/Dissatisfactory points | It is an SS, so it is natural, but compared to the previous model, if I may say so, it has a tighter forward-leaning posture, which causes lower back fatigue when riding for a long time. Due to the high seat and the width of the motorcycle, the foot grounding is not as good as the previous model. I have to be careful when standing up, but this is partly due to my own physique. |
Advice for prospective buyers | It is not fuel-efficient, it generates a lot of heat, it is very hot in the summer, and the riding posture is very particular. If you like SS, you should definitely consider it as one of your candidates. |
Check out the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade/SP competitors
What is interesting about the CBR1000RR-R is its attention to aerodynamic characteristics, which have become popular among 1000cc class supersport models in recent years.
In addition to a design that minimizes aerodynamic drag, the CBR1000RR-R is equipped with winglets that create downforce to push the body against the road surface and a lower cowl that prevents the rear tires from losing temperature and reduces the amount of water on the rear tires in wet conditions.
As for Japan 1000cc supersports, Yamaha's YZF-R1, Suzuki's GSX-R1000R (discontinued), and Kawasaki's Ninja ZX-10R would be rivals. In terms of models with aerodynamic winglets, overseas models such as Ducati's Panigale V4 R and BMW's M1000RR would-be competitors.
