Team LRP saved its best to last in this season’s FIM Endurance World Championship, which concluded in all-action fashion during the 86th Bol d’Or at Circuit Paul Ricard last weekend.

With Marek Szkopek returning to EWC duty to join forces with season-long Team LRP riders Julian Puffe and Dominik Vincon, the BMW-powered squad finished 10th overall and seventh among the Formula EWC category riders.

It was a very difficult and challenging race, said team founder and manager Bartłomiej Lewandowski. Many teams did not reach the finish line, but thanks to a great strategy and its perfect implementation we were not only able to complete the struggles considered the most challenging for motorcycles, but also to fight for a great result.

The very beginning of the race was very important. We made a brave decision to start on a wet but drying track on intermediate [Pirelli] tyres. With this, we quickly advanced to the top 10, and then we fought for the entire hour.

We’re happy to have learned from previous races, improved our starts and tactics, all with 100 per cent at the finish line.

This result would not be possible without the hard work of the entire team, from the riders to the technical staff, to the fans who cheered us on as always throughout the day.

Polish rider Szkopek added: I'm very happy because it was a very difficult race. The ending was extremely dramatic. We counted, fortunately, a tipper on the oil spilled by another motorcycle, and later punctured the rear tyre on parts scattered along the track, but we were able to get to the finish line with a great result.

Team LRP Poland finished the season ninth in the FIM Endurance World Championship for Teams.
