Team Bolliger Switzerland plans to make up for the disappointment of being forced to miss next month’s 44th Coca-Cola Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance Race in the best way possible.
The privateer squad has never skipped an EWC season although its participation in the Japanese round of the championship has always been dependent on it being able to find and justify the extra budget required.
While it will sit out the Suzuka round with its #8 Kawasaki, Team Bolliger Switzerland will instead attempt to gain a march on some of its EWC rivals by starting its preparations for September’s Bol d’Or early.
Our airplane boxes should be on their way to Suzuka, Team Manager Kevin Bolliger said. Unfortunately, they remain on home soil this year as well. Like in 2022, we have to forsake Suzuka in 2023. As a team in racing, actually our destiny is to race and therefore to participate in all races of the championship so to cancel the participation in Suzuka hurts the most. But we won't be lying around in the sun though. We will conduct some testing days and trackdays before the Bol d'Or as well and train our mechanics in the workshop. At the Bol d'Or in September, we will do everything to get the best possible result.
