FIM Endurance World Championship legend Anthony Delhalle has been honoured by the city of Le Mans with the naming of a road in his memory.
The Frenchman lost his life in a testing accident in 2017 aged 35 but remains one of the most successful riders in EWC history having been part of an FIM Endurance World Championship title-winning team five times. He also won the 24 Heures Motos and Bol d’Or twice with his last victory on the Circuit Bugatti coming in 2015.
At the road-naming ceremony in Le Mans yesterday (Monday), Delhalle’s widow and two young children were joined by Damien Saulnier, the boss of the Suzuki Endurance Racing Team for whom Delhalle rode, plus other friends and family members.
