Kawasaki's Ninja EV/Z EV, which was demonstrated at the 2022 Suzuka 8 Hours and officially announced at the Milano Show, will be on display at the JAIA Imported Electric Vehicles Promotion Event in Kobe. These two vehicles are also being considered for sale in Japan, and we look forward to their launch.
Widespread exhibition of electric mobility in Kansai's trend-setting areas
Kawasaki Motors Japan will participate in the JAIA Import Electric Vehicle Promotion Event in Kobe to be held in Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture on July 14-15, 2023, as a regional partner company, and will exhibit the EV Ninja and EV Z that were shown at the 2022 Milano Show.
Ten importers of four-wheeled vehicles, one importer of two-wheeled vehicles, and ten companies in the recharging and recycling industry will unveil their latest lineup of imported electric vehicles at Akashimacho-suji, a former settlement in Kobe City, known as the fashion center of the Kansai region.
Kawasaki calls the models it is exhibiting EV motorcycles (prototypes), but these are the ones that are being sent overseas under the name Ninja EV/Z EV. These two models are announced to have specifications that are in line with the European A1 license and are said to be 125 cc and 15 PS or less for the engine model.
On the other hand, the classification of electric bikes in Japan is based on rated output, so this does not necessarily translate directly into a small license classification. It is unclear if any new information will be announced at the Kobe exhibition, but we hope that the exhibition will be an opportunity to make progress toward the launch of the product in Japan.

Ninja EV [KAWASAKI] A full-cowl version of the electric Z that was demonstrated at the Suzuka 8-Hours Endurance Race in 2022. The tank portion serves as a lid, and two removable batteries can be inserted.

Z EV [KAWASAKI] A naked version is also available with a common chassis. It will be interesting to see if the information will be presented again in Japan at the Suzuka 8 Hours. It was not exhibited at the 2023 motorcycle show.

Two batteries are plugged in at the back of the tank section.
There is a space above the batteries that could be used as a glove compartment, etc.

In addition to electric and hybrid models (center), Kawasaki is also developing a hydrogen-powered H2 (right) to be carbon neutral.
