Amandine Creusot has explained the circumstances that led to her unexpected FIM Endurance World Championship comeback in the Dunlop Superstock Trophy category at Circuit de Spa-Fancorchamps last month.
After missing the 24 Heures Motos in April, the French rider received a late call to return to the Team 202 ranks as its fourth rider for the 24H SPA EWC Motos to kick-off what she described as a crazy week.
In a post on Facebook, Creusot wrote: A regular Monday at work like everyone else, but this was by far the most atypical week for me of all my 24-hour races. I find out I have a spot as a back-up rider on the team with a departure to Spa at the last minute on Tuesday. Wednesday a big fall in the early afternoon puts everything in question and on Thursday my health does not allow me to ride at all. Friday I qualify and pick up the red armband from my team-mate Sofian [Lhuillier] who is sick since the beginning of the week. Friday night I’m starting a round of EWC and Monday I just had to go to work. Impossible is nothing.
Unfortunately for Creusot and her fellow Yamaha-powered Team 202 riders Florent Parret and Gilles Minutello, their bid to finish the 24H SPA EWC Motos ended in the opening hours due to an oil filter issue.
