The hardest working parts of a running vehicle are brake-related parts, which are also known as important safety parts. In particular, when driving in the rain, the brake calipers are exposed to gravel and mud along with rainwater, which presses against the brake disc rotors, making them dirtier than one might imagine. Let's take a look at the condition of these brake parts again.
Wash off the grit and grime with ease. It works!
Do not underestimate the power of the kitchen-neutral detergent. By washing off the dirt and grime from around the calipers after driving in the rain or touring, the brake performance and appearance of the calipers will certainly be maintained and positively improved.
Anyway, washing leads to maintaining the condition. Caliper disassembly is considered unnecessary. Just remove the calipers from the bottom case and wash them, leaving the brake hoses connected. Just doing that alone is very effective. You can also use a bucket of warm water filled with mild detergent. It is also effective to fill a spray nozzle bottle with diluted neutral detergent and scrub it with a brush while spraying it on the dirt. This is also a good maintenance method to prevent wear and tear on the rotor.
It is very effective even without disassembling the calipers, depending on how you do it!
Remove the pad and set the special pliers inside the caliper piston. By rotating the piston while gripping and holding the pliers, the entire piston's outer circumference can be cleaned up.
Use a toothbrush or brass brush to remove dirt from the outer circumference while rotating the piston. By jabbing with a neutral detergent beforehand, the dirt is by far the easiest to remove and work with.
