Yamaha Motor has announced the 2023 model of its middle-class road sport「MT-03」. The new model complies with the 2020 emission regulations and features a new color variation. A new color, cyan, the next-generation「MT-03」 series' image color, has been adopted as an accent. In terms of equipment, the「MT-03's」 first quick shifter is now available as an optional accessory, making it more advantageous for sports riding. The new model will be released on Friday, February 24, 2023, at a price of (approx.) 5320 USD.
More sporty with "Cyan" common to the series
Launched in 2016, the MT-03 is a road sport that shares basic components with the full-cowl sport YZF-R3, including a 320cc liquid-cooled, parallel twin-cylinder engine, while adopting a sharp and dynamic design with naked styling. Different from the YZF-R3 by its upright position, the MT-25 combines control performance with a nimble ride. Along with the 250cc "MT-25," it is the entry model in the "MT series," and is highly popular among young riders.
The new model complies with the latest 2020 emission regulations, and the exterior (under-cowl) has been partially reshaped to comply with the new regulations. Maximum output remains unchanged from the previous model at 42 PS at 10750 rpm, and maximum torque has been increased from 29 N-m at 9000 rpm to 30 N-m at 9000 rpm. In terms of fuel economy, however, the WMTC mode figure has been lowered slightly from 27.6 km/L to 25.4 km/L.
Three new colors are available in the color variation. In particular, the "Pastel Dark Gray" color is shared with the MT-09, which was introduced last year, and is accented with "cyan," the image color of the next-generation MT series. The cyan color is boldly applied to the front and rear wheels. The "Deep Purplish Blue" model has the same base as the previous model but follows the design of the flagship "YZF-R1" model in pursuit of an even sportier image.
The release date is Friday, February 24, 2023, at a price of (approx.) 5320 USD.
The price will be (approx.) 510 USD higher than the previous model.
The new "Pastel Dark Gray" color boldly features cyan-colored wheels, a first for the MT-03. As a common image of the MT series, this design is also shared with the MT-09.
