Suzuki's new GSX-8S naked sport and adventure tourer V-STROM 800DE (V-Strom 800DE) was announced at the Milano show last November. The GSX-8S will go on sale in June for $8,849, and the V-STROM800DE (V-Strom 800DE) will go on sale in May for $11,349.

The VStrom 800DE, a sibling model announced at the same time as the GSX-8S, is another new model that is attracting attention. This model also shares the same basic design as the GSX-8S, with a parallel twin-cylinder 776cc engine and a portion of the frame, but as the name of the V-Strom series implies, it is an adventure bike that can also handle off-road riding. It is equipped with the latest electronic controls, including an electronically controlled throttle and the Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (SIRS), and has a 21-inch wheel size and the longest suspension stroke in the V-Strom series to maximize its rideability.
According to the North American release information, it is scheduled to go on sale in May for $11,349. Also announced this time is a variation model, the VStrom 800DE Adventure. This is a higher-grade model equipped with quick-release aluminum pannier cases, accessory bars, and skid plates as standard equipment to further enhance off-road riding performance. This model was released at the same time as the standard model, but at a price of $12,999, about 1550 USD more than the standard model.
The new adventure VSTROME 800DE was unveiled at the Milan show at the same time as the GSX-8S. The actual model was displayed at the Vstrom Meeting held at Suzuki's headquarters in the same month and was shown to Japanese fans for the first time.
The VSTROM 800DE Adventure is a variation of the VSTROM 800DE, which was introduced for the first time in North America. It is an upgraded model with a 37-liter side case, accessory bars and skid plates, and more touring-specific features.
