A derivative model, the Rebel 1100T, is likely to be added in 2023 to the Honda Rebel 1100 launched in 2021.
The "T" is, of course, the "T" in Tour = Tour. It is expected to be designed for touring and equipped with cowl and pannier cases as standard equipment.
The Honda bagger reminds me of the CTX1300 and NM4-02.
The Rebel 1100 is a cruiser equipped with a 1082cc parallel twin-cylinder engine of the CRF1100L Africa Twin family.
The style of the unprecedented hit Rebel 250 has been made into a 1100cc size, and in 2021, it recorded strong sales, ranking second only to the Z900RS among big motorcycles.
And for 2023, the information is that the Rebel 1100T will be added to this list. The "T" stands for Tour (Tour = travel), and since it is expected to be a touring version with a cowl and pannier cases, it is likely that it will appear as a model in the cruiser genre known as a bagger.
Perhaps related to this, the bagger-type Gold Wing is being discontinued in Japan at the end of October 2022 and would serve as a replacement. Of concern is that the tank capacity of the Rebel 1100 is only 13 liters, and it is unclear whether this will be increased or not, or other details.
Honda has been releasing popular "bagger" models in cruisers, starting with the Gold Wing F6B in 2013. The 2014 CTX1300 and NM4-02 also increased the run-up with bagger-like styling, but both were short-lived. All eyes will be on these two models to see if they will become established baggers in Japan this time around.

HONDA Rebel 1100DCT. A short-distance cruiser that stands close to Harley's Sportster.
Parts to make it a short touring spec will be available, but a bagger spec should make it more stylish.

HONDA CTX1300 (2014). Kinki axis cruiser with ST1300 pan-European based longitudinally mounted V-4 engine.
Equipped with two panniers as standard equipment, it pursued the Honda style of bagger style.

HONDA NM4-02 (2014). A futuristic cruiser utilizing the platform of the NC750 series. The 02 with panniers is a kind of bagger.

HONDA Gold Wing. The bagger type took over Gold Wing in 2018, while the top-cased version became a tour.
The 6-cylinder bagger, which continued from the 2013 Gold Wing F6B, is no longer produced in Japan.
