Winter x Motorcycle = Cold
What kind of " weapons" do you use to combat the cold?
I am sure there are many people who wear windproof innerwear, jackets made of high-performance materials, mountaineering jackets, and so on.

Among them, a reliable partner is electric heating goods! We will introduce such electrically heated goods, divided into jackets, pants, and gloves. Let's be invincible this winter without knowing the cold!

How to choose electric heating goods

Type of power supply method

This is common to all electrically heated goods regardless of whether they are jackets, gloves, or pants.
There are two main types of power supply methods: dedicated battery type and vehicle body power supply type.

Battery type

This type is used by charging a dedicated battery. Some models can also be powered by commercially available mobile batteries. It is relatively easy to set up and can be used easily.

It is recommended for commuting, city driving, etc. However, since the continuous use time is limited, be careful not to run out of battery power when riding for long periods of time, such as long tours. You need to take measures such as carrying a spare battery.

This type is used by connecting directly to the motorcycle battery or to a cigar socket, etc.

Since power is supplied directly from the motorcycle, there is no need to worry about running out of charge, etc.

It is recommended for long-running situations such as long rings. However, the problem is that work such as wiring modification is required. In addition to the electric heating glove, separate parts and expertise are required.

Note the heat-generating part.

Depending on the manufacturer and product, the parts of the body that generate heat differ. Basically, you can be sure to choose a jacket that generates heat at both shoulders and back, gloves at the back of the hands and fingertips, and pants at the thighs and knees.
Also, for jackets, it is better if there is a heat-generating part at the neck. The warmth you feel will be different. If you want more power and more heat, you should choose a jacket with more heat-generating parts.

Warming the body's end fingers and toes is effective

When we think of electric heat, we tend to focus on jackets and vests, but our hands and toes are also areas that are constantly exposed to the wind.  Even a motorcycle with a cowl cannot hide these parts of the body, especially if you are cold. Generally speaking, the first parts of the body to get cold are the hands and feet, which are farthest from the heart. Warming the ends of the body with electric gloves or toe warmers is a more effective way to keep out the cold.

5-Recommended Electrically Heated Jackets

RS TAICHI | RSU634 e-HEAT Inner Jacket

RSTAICHI-1-min-1.jpg

This is the standard model of RS Taichi's electric heating brand "e-HEAT". If you are in doubt, this is definitely the one for you. The heating elements are placed on both shoulders and back. The temperature can be adjusted in three levels, and the power supply method can be selected between a dedicated battery type and a car body power supply type.
The use of a carbon-fiber heat-generating unit and windproof stretch fabrics establishes this jacket as a warm inner jacket that is easy to move around in.

RS TAICHI | RSU635 e-HEAT Fleece Inner Hoodie

RS TAICHI's e-HEAT series features an unlikely fleece-type electric heat wear. Functions such as the three-stage temperature adjustment function and the power generation section are the same as those of previous models.
By bringing in fleece, which is known for its heat retention and softness, this model has become more casual and easy to wear.

KOMINE | EK-106 Electric Inner Jacket 12V

The heat-generating parts are larger than those of the e-HEAT series. Electric heating wires are placed in six locations on both chests, back, neck, and arms. Normally, the more electric heating wires, the harder it is to move, but this jacket is made entirely of stretch material to eliminate that disadvantage. The connection method is the car body feeding type. Wiring to the car body is required, but the jacket can be used without worrying about running out of charge.

KOMINE | EK-108 Electric Inner Hybrid Vest

KOMINE-2-min.jpg

This is easy-to-wear electric heat wear that can be worn under any jacket, or even outside of a motorcycle. It is thin and vest-shaped, so it is recommended as a garment that keeps you warm without making you feel bulky. In addition to power supplied by a dedicated battery, it can also be used with commercially available USB mobile batteries, making it a highly versatile garment.

This is also vest-type electric heat wear. Compared to KOMINEs, it is stuffed with padding and has thicker fabric, so the warmth retention is unquestionable even as a standalone item. One of the features of Heatmaster's electrothermal wear is that it can be washed in a washing machine. For example, it can be washed even if it gets dirty, such as off-roading in winter, so it can be used in a much wider range of situations. Since it is a vest type, it eliminates the feeling of bulging around the arms. Power can be supplied from a commercially available mobile battery.
