Honda's Rebel 250/S Edition has been a steadfast bestseller in the 250cc class in recent years and is unique in that it is the best-selling model among 20-somethings by far. I have received information that this model will undergo a second model change for the 2023 model year.
This time, all new colors, including two colors adopted for the first time in Japan, will be introduced.
Here are the details.

New titanium and white colors are previewed on Honda's social networking site, what about the other colors?
Last September 16, Honda Motorcycle Japan released photos of the 2023 Rebel 250/S Edition on its official SNS.
The titanium metallic S Edition and pearl white STD both come in colors that have never been seen before and are full of freshness. Pricing and release date were not mentioned, but here we would like to make a prediction based on our own information.
The Web site estimates that the product will go on sale in the second half of December. The price will be (approx.) 200 USD for the Rebel 250 and (approx.) 4465 USD for the Rebel 250 S Edition, an increase of (approx.) 80 USD including tax. As for the details of the minor changes, the photos released by Honda show that the catalyzer has been enlarged, so there is no doubt that the new model will comply with the 2020 emission regulations.
And it appears that there will be a total of five color schemes, three for the Rebel 250 and two for the S Edition.
What a fresh variation this will be, as all colors are expected to be new.
The STD is expected to come in three colors, matte black and pearl gray in addition to the already publicized pearl white, while the S edition is expected to come in two colors, candy red in addition to titanium.
CGs of the 2023 Rebel 250 S Edition and Rebel 250 produced by the editorial department. Titanium Metallic is used for the first time in Japan, and Pearl White is a new color not used on past Rebel 250s.
In 2023, we will further increase the number of units planned and keep our bestseller position.
When the Rebel 250 debuted in 2017, the planned sales volume was only 1,500 units. It became a bestseller, selling 5236 units in 2018 and 7985 units in 2019, according to Motorcyclist Newspaper. In response to this, when the model was redesigned for 2020, an S edition was added to the lineup, with a planned annual sales volume of 9,000 units.
The Rebel 250 was launched in 2017 and grew in 2018, but we still expected about 4,500-5,000 units in 2019.
We also had a solid initial reading for 2020, when the model changed.
However, when we opened the lid in 2019, we saw that volume was growing every month, so we announced annual sales of 9,000 units for the model announced in 2020. The Honda sales representative's comment, which I heard in early 2021, was that he didn't think it would actually sell this many units, even though it was a fairly large plan.
So far in 2020, that is 13,297 units, according to Motorcycle News. This was truly a breakout moment for the Rebel 250.
In 2021, despite the supply shortage, it is holding on to the top spot with 11,227 units, nearly double the second place.
And the planned volume for 2023 is expected to be 17,000 units. Honda seems to think that the peak of the Rebel 250 is still ahead of us, but how far will it continue to grow?
The 2023 Rebel 250S Edition in Candy Red, CG produced by the editorial department, is likely to be the first color in Japan. The bikini cowl will be matte gray and the wheels will be brown metallic.
There seems to be no change in equipment other than compliance with 2020 emission regulations.
The current Rebel 250, which underwent a model change in 2020, features new LEDs for the headlight, indicator, and taillight. A gear position indicator has been added to the meter, and the indicator lights are now displayed independently on the left and right to improve operability.
In addition, an assist slipper clutch that reduces clutch operation and stabilizes rear tire behavior during engine braking, and changes to the front and rear suspension specifications have improved handling and ride comfort.
The 2023 Rebel 250 is likely to follow suit, and there will be no changes in equipment. The engine will undoubtedly comply with the 2020 emission regulations, but the specs will not be reduced based on examples of other models equipped with the same type of engine.
Pearl white model of the 2023 Rebel 250, which was CG-created by the editorial department. Although the CG base is based on the previous model, it is expected that there will be no change in equipment, so it will be released almost as it is.

HONDA 2023 Rebel 250S. Pearl White STD was released by Honda. The front part of the silencer is thicker and the catalyzer is larger.
Matte Black of the 2023 Rebel 250, which was CG produced by the editorial department. Although it is a standard color, matte black did not exist on the Rebel 250.
The Pearl Gray color of the 2023 Rebel 250, was created by CG in the editorial department. The earth color, which is in fashion these days, seems to match Rebel 250.
