October 4, 2022, Kawasaki unveiled its EV research vehicle for the first time in Europe at the Intermot Show in Germany.
This is one of two EVs that were demonstrated at the Suzuka 8 Hours in August.
These are expected to be launched in 2023, and it seems likely that an additional one will be unveiled at the Milan show in November.
Kawasaki's EV campaign, which began at Suzuka, will be completed at the Milano show in November!?
President Hiroshi Ito of Kawasaki Motors, a spin-off from Kawasaki Heavy Industries, has announced that the company will unveil three EVs by 2022, and this time one of them has been unveiled as a mass production prototype. This is one of the two vehicles that were demonstrated at the Suzuka 8 Hours on August 6, and we can expect the other two to appear at the Mira Show in November.
At Suzuka, this EV version of the Naked and a hybrid version clad in a half-cowl were demonstrated. The remaining vehicle is veiled but is expected to be an EV version of the Supersport. The full-cowl EV research vehicle was first unveiled at the 2019 Milan show, and the production version will probably make its world premiere at the same show in 2022 in this scenario.
The EV shown here as a mass-production prototype is expected to go on sale in 2023, and its introduction in Japan is highly anticipated. The hybrid model that was driven in Suzuka is also expected to go on sale as early as 2023.
KAWASAKI EV Mass Production Prototype. October 4, Kawasaki unveiled an EV naked at the Intermot Show.
The fact that it is a mass-production prototype means that it is sure to be on the market soon. The battery is much smaller than the 2019 prototype.
KAWASAKI EV Research Vehicle. This EV was first unveiled at the 2019 Milan Show. The exterior during testing was fitted with a Ninja 250 and a 4-speed manual transmission.
KAWASAKI HEV Prototype. The hybrid (HEV) prototype demonstrated at the Suzuka 8 Hours was equipped with a two-cylinder engine. The engine displacement is unknown.

The last of the three is expected to be an EV supersport. It is expected to be unveiled at the Milano show in November.
The EV has an output of 11 kW (about 15 PS) and a maximum output of around 30 PS.
The EV research vehicle, unveiled at the Milan show in November 2019, has a motor output of 10 kW (13.6 hp) at cruise and a maximum output of 20 kW (27.2 hp). The vehicle was announced to weigh 219 kg. The battery was compatible with the CHAdeMo standard for quick recharging, and the cruising range on a full charge was said to be 100 km.
The specifications of the model shown here, which is believed to be an EV, have been increased by 1 kW to 11 kW (14.9 PS) on the documents submitted to the U.S., and the maximum output may have been slightly enhanced. On the other hand, the model is expected to be an automatic transmission model, as the installation of a transmission cannot be confirmed, and we would expect a 125-class model based on the vehicle's size. If so, it should serve as a replacement for the Z125 Pro, which will be discontinued.

Kawasaki has applied for a patent for an engine that appears to be a hybrid, and (Figure 10) confirms that the engine is a parallel two-cylinder unit. HEVs also seems to be under considerable development.
