Suzuki has announced the entry lineup for the 2021 season of Team SUZUKI ECSTAR, which will compete in the MotoGP class of the FIM*1 Road Racing World Championship (MotoGP), the pinnacle of motorcycle racing.
Team SUZUKI ECSTAR, which won the team championship in the MotoGP class in the 2020 season, will be competing for the seventh season since its return in 2015, with Joan Mir (Spain), who also won the rider championship, and Alex Rins (Spain), who finished third for the year.
The vehicle entered in the race was the GSX-RR with an inline four-cylinder engine, which further improved the superior overall performance and the match between the two riders. The 2021 model also features a livery that includes the "Monster Energy" sponsor logo.
In the 2021 season, a total of 19 races*2 will be held in 17 countries around the world, including the Japanese GP (October 3), starting with the first race in Qatar on March 28 and ending with the final race in Valencia on November 14.
In defending his title, Suzuki is aiming to surpass his 11 podium finishes from the 2020 season, including two wins and five runner-up finishes. Through our participation in MotoGP, we will further strengthen the development of machines that can always aim for the podium, and by providing feedback to our products, we will develop more attractive products that exceed the expectations of Suzuki fans and improve our brand image.
