Hasegawa is a plastic model manufacturer that handles a wide range of products, including fighter planes, motorcycle and four-wheeled vehicles, robot models, and figures. We have received information that the company will be releasing a 1:12 scale model of Honda's famous car, the XLR BAJA. The model is scheduled to be released around December 27th of this year, and will be priced at $27.69 including tax.
A famous motorcycle named after the "Baja" off-road race, said to be the toughest in the world.
The XLR250 Baja is a 249cc air-cooled single-cylinder off-road motorcycle that debuted in 1987. The Baja being modeled this time is the 1991 model MD22, which comes standard with an oil cooler and has modifications to the front and rear suspension.
The "Baja" in the name of this motorcycle comes from the Baja 1000, the world's toughest enduro race. The MD22 is extremely light, weighing in at around 114kg dry, and was popular until it underwent a full model change in 1995.

1991 Honda XLR BAJA. Its twin headlights were a distinctive feature.

After about 30 years, it will be reproduced in 12:1 scale.
It will be as close to the real motorcycle as possible!
Even without seeing a photo of the actual model, you can tell from the CG-created 3D model alone that it is a very detailed build. There seems to have been no compromise whatsoever, from the air-cooling fins on the engine cylinder to the frame shape.
The part colors are white for the frame, tank, and seat cowl, red for the seat and bag, black for the exhaust pipe and handlebars, and gray for the engine and wheels.
Other features include a plated mirror surface for the headlights, and metal inlets for the mirror surfaces of the side mirrors. As it is reproduced using a completely new mold, you can expect high quality from each and every part.

In addition, etching parts will also be released separately for those who want to get into the details. These include front and rear discs, cable guides, and pipe guides, all made of stainless steel.
The Baja is still popular today. Why not try and get your hands on a model of it?
