BRUTALE 1000RS(998cc)Owner: Taskun
This corner introduces one MY BIKE submitted to Webike Community every week.
The model introduced this time is MV AGUSTA「Brutale 1000RS」and the owner is "Taskun".
The Brutale 1000RS, released by MV Agusta in 2021, is a super naked model based on the Supersport F4 engine that delivers 208 HP at 13,000 rpm. Unlike the Supersport, the Brutale 1000RS is a naked bike that is easy to ride in town and for touring, making it an attractive model that can be used in any situation.
Mr. Taksun, introduced here, switched from an F4-1000S. He has been impressed with the powerful sound of the parallel 4-cylinder engine and the design of the exhaust system, as well as the mild ride quality and high fuel efficiency of the electronically controlled engine. Mr. Taksun has owned several models of Agusta motrocycles, including F4 and dragsters, and his impressions are very concrete. Buying an Agusta model, sometimes referred to as a work of art, can be a little (a lot?) nerve-wracking the first time. It is a little (a lot?) nerve-wracking to buy an Agusta model, which is sometimes referred to as a work of art, but the owner's voice will be a perfect reference!

New for 2021, the Brutale 1000RS shares the same basic design as the Brutale 1000RR that has been in the lineup for some time, with adjustable forks, a thick seat, special footrests, and other comfortable equipment for public roads.

As is typical of Agusta machines, which are also called running works of art, the price is 4.29 million yen, which is ultra-luxurious. But according to Mr. Taxon, he has nothing bad to say about it. If you test drive it, you will buy it for sure. Don't ride it. It has such a strong appeal.
FROM MY BIKE COMMENTS
Motive for purchase
He owned an F4-1000S (2006), but sold it for various reasons: the position is very tight and its use is limited, the fuel consumption is poor and the cruising range is uncertain, the maintenance costs a lot of money due to wear and tear mainly on the suspension, and the supply of genuine parts is becoming doubtful. Nevertheless, the MV Agusta 4-cylinder model has a sensual sound and exciting ride, so we could not give up the desire for it. I test-rode a current Brutale 1000 (4-cylinder) with a near-identical engine, and liked it very much; there were three grades: RS, RR, and Nürburgring, but I bought the cheapest RS before the price went up due to the weak yen.
The main use of the motorcycle is for winding roads in the neighborhood. Sometimes used for circuit driving and long touring.
Advantages
The unique design is typical of Italian-made products.
The four-piece muffler design is as great as ever and produces a powerful sound even in stock form. The intake sound from the air cleaner is wonderful during acceleration. The sound of the air cleaner intake is wonderful during acceleration! The sound of the air cleaner is very loud and lively, which adds to the acceleration feel of the 208hp. Cornering is also excellent. The Pirelli Super Corsa SPV3 tires (OEM tires) are used from the start, but the motorcycle is stable and can be laid down anywhere. In addition, the numerous electronic controls make it very easy to ride, especially at the start of the throttle opening, which is very mild and easy to handle. While the RR and Nürburgring models use separate handlebars, the RS uses an up handlebar, which makes the position easier. However, the step position is sport-oriented, so it is naturally a racer's position. The suspension is mechanical (Marzocchi front, Sachs rear). Although it may seem inferior to the RR and Nürburgring, which use electronically controlled suspension, it is a very good suspension that moves very well and is well made. Considering the fact that the RS will eventually need to be overhauled, the RS is cheaper, and as a result, it is sufficient. Only the steering damper is electronically controlled by Öhlins, as in the RR and Nürburgring.
Compared to the F4, fuel consumption has been greatly improved. Although the fuel tank is small (16 liters), the motorcycle can operate more than 200 km on a full tank (except on the race circuit). Equipped with the popular winglets, the downforce effect can be felt at speeds of 200 km/h or more. The battery is a lithium-ion battery, which is extremely lightweight and compact. A dedicated battery charger is included as standard, and the battery can be recharged using a dedicated connector. The souvenirs that come with the purchase are amazing for nothing (lol). A commemorative mane of Brutale 1000RS, a signature paper written by an MV Agusta employee, a letter from the president? A letter from the president of MV Agusta, a glittering USB (containing the instruction manual and other data), a commemorative sticker, and a luxurious wooden box in which all these items are included.
Disadvantages
The quality and equipment are considerably inferior to those of the RR and Nürburgring.
Particularly noticeable are the front and rear suspension, various carbon parts, steps, and wheels. It is a little hard to line up next to the RR and Nürburgring (although there are a few occasions when this is the case). The mirrors, which are a feature of the RS, are a bit clunky.
However, if they were changed, the RS feature would be lost, so they are left as they are.
The tandem seat is very lame. I would like to change it to a single seat someday.
The space for ETC is under the seat next to the battery.
However, the seat itself is fixed with screws, so it is not easily accessible, and the ETC card is left in the seat.
Advice for prospective buyers
The most exciting current MV Agusta model. I have owned two of them, a 4-cylinder Brutale and a 3-cylinder Dragster, but as a result, I sold the 3-cylinder Dragster.
That's how special the 4-cylinder models are and they are very elaborate in their construction.
MV Agusta Japan, which had been selling and servicing them, has withdrawn from the market, but KTM is taking over. Do you think it will be OK for the time being?
At any rate, I won't say anything bad about it. If you test-ride it, you will buy it for sure.
Don't ride it, everyone.
