The Hayabusa “KYO-SUI” appeals to a new crowd! Beautiful and highly functional machined parts from AELLA!
Casuno Motorcycles, founded in Kyoto, Japan in 1974, launched their original parts brand, AELLA, in 1991. Since then AELLA has continued to manufacture riding steps, adjustable handlebars, and other positioning parts that allow riders to ride, turn, and stop comfortably. This Hayabusa KYO-SUI, their latest custom machine, reflects their commitment to part manufacturing in every detail.

Bringing the essence of AELLA to the Hayabusa, a bike customized by many!
AELLA, who began manufacturing parts for Japanese bikes starting with the Z900RS, also began developing parts for the Suzuki Hayabusa around the end of last year. The reason they chose the Hayabusa was because it is one of the most popular mega-sport models in Japan and it is a bike that many owners enjoy customizing. The leader, Mr. Yukio Kagayama, of DUCATI Team KAGAYAMA, a team that they sponsored in last year's All Japan Road Race, is also known for riding a Hayabusa in the Taste of Tsukuba. This helped their momentum in establishing a foothold in the Japanese customization market to grow.
Unveiled at the Tokyo Motorcycle Show in March 2025, the Hayabusa KYO-SUI sports a wrapping film with a coloring and design reminiscent of green tea to incorporate the image of Kyoto while maintaining the elegance of the Hayabusa. (Incidentally, the name KYO-SUI in Japanese is made up of characters meaning "Kyoto" and "green")
The first thing that AELLA focused on when beginning to develop parts for the Hayabusa was the handlebar, which resembles that of a sport bike. The stock handlebars are too far away for the average Japanese rider and have a sharp drop angle, so they made a bar with a wider angle and a position closer to the rider to make it more comfortable to use as a touring bike. A top bridge was also newly developed in order to match this original machined aluminum adjustable handlebar, which has a high-precision adjustable mechanism at the base of the grip bar to achieve a position that suits each rider's needs. By making it a pipe handlebar it also allows the top bridge to have large cutouts for improved handling performance.
The step kit, which is important in determining riding position, was also designed to match the handlebar position. The shift pedal is a coaxial type, which is compatible with the quickshifter for a direct shifting feel. The step base is designed with a one-piece construction to minimize outward protrusion for smooth foot work. The large heel guard, which firmly supports the heel even when operating the pedals with the toe, has been designed to absorb shock while maintaining the necessary strength. The back side of the step also has large cutouts to reduce damage to the frame in the event of a fall.
It should also be noted that, aside from the clutch release, AELLA's machined aluminum parts equipped on the Hayabusa KYO-SUI use electroless nickel plating for their surface treatment. The unique nickel color, which is different from anodized aluminum, perfectly balances with the green tea body color and adds a stylish touch to the overall look. It also has the advantage of higher surface hardness and scratch resistance than anodized aluminum. The electroless nickel plating finish is currently available for adjustable handlebars and step kits for other models, but the parts on this Hayabusa were for exhibit only. Riders will surely be pleased if electroless nickel plating is added to the product lineup in addition to the usual silver and black anodized finish.
Lineup of AELLA parts for the Hayabusa
Carbon Trim High Windshield / Smoke (Currently on sale) AS-008-00-04
The length of the windshield is extended by approximately 75mm from stock to enhance wind protection, while the use of acrylic material with excellent visibility eliminates distortion. Carbon trim is used to reduce weight and improve looks.
Riding Step Kit (Currently on sale) AE-10108
This step kit is designed to satisfy the overwhelming sense of ownership of the Hayabusa while allowing the rider to control it as if it were a part of their own body. The AELLA Step Kit has bolt holes that allow the rider to choose from four positions, but is designed so that they are not visible from the outside, in order to match the Hayabusa's styling.
Other features include a large heel guard, adjustable pedal tips that can be shortened by up to 10mm for riders with smaller feet, cutouts to absorb damage in the event of a fall, and a wide flat step bar that ensures stable grip even on a rainy day. It is a beautiful step that fully demonstrates AELLA's know-how accumulated through many years of developing positioning parts.
Radiator & Oil Cooler Protector (Currently on sale)
AELLA's unique seamless honeycomb design is used, with fine mesh for high protection in the center, where most of the debris kicked up by the front wheel hits, and larger mesh for high cooling effect on both sides of the guard. The 0.8mm-thick stainless steel SUS316 material is characterized by its high acid resistance, corrosion resistance, and high temperature strength.
Front Axle Slider (Currently on sale)
This part is attached to both ends of the front axle shaft to reduce damage in the event of a fall. The key point is that it is designed not to stick out too much. The color of the shaft part can be selected from gold or red.
Titanium Air Valve Cap / Anodized (Currently on sale) AE-74022SC
The design of the air valve has been renewed with a slightly conical shape. The unique gradation that can only be achieved with titanium is created with anodization.
Shift Holder (Currently on sale) AE-74046
Machined aluminum support holder that reduces wobble of the gear change shaft for more secure shifting operation. The shaft bearing uses an original part made of fluorine resin (PTFE) machined to a high degree of precision. Excellent heat resistance and sliding characteristics (non-adhesiveness and low friction) enable smooth and comfortable gear changes. The two-piece construction makes it easy to adapt to individual differences in bikes and simplifies installation.
Lever Guard & Slider Set (Currently on sale) AE-15006
AELLA's lever guards are made by machining instead of bending. The bar ends are made of resin with a slider function. Note that this product is compatible with AELLA's Machined Aluminum Adjustable Handlebar and cannot be installed on stock handlebars.
Clutch Release (Scheduled to be released in early July, 2025)
The weight of the clutch gradually becomes tiring when riding long distances. AELLA has enlarged the cylinder diameter from the stock φ33.65 to φ37 to reduce the force of clutch operation and make it easier to apply half-clutch.
Aluminum Machined Adjustable Handlebar, Top Bridge + Handlebar Post (Scheduled to be released in late April, 2025)
A handlebar kit to change the handlebars to a position that brings them closer to the rider and increases the drop angle to create a position that is less tiring when using the bike as a tourer. The top bridge has also been newly developed to enable the AELLA Adjustable Handlebar to be installed on the Hayabusa, allowing a high degree of freedom in finding the position that best suits each rider.
Short License Plate Holder (Scheduled to be released in late April, 2025)
The main body and license plate base are machined from aluminum, which not only creates a luxurious look but also ensures sufficient strength. The rear of the bike looks sharper than with the stock resin material. Installation is a bolt-on process, and an original LED license plate light is included.
Frame Slider (Scheduled to be released in late April, 2025)
The Hayabusa-specific design provides ample protection with a discreet design that minimizes protruding parts. It is attached to the inside of the cowl with a dedicated slider mounting bracket.
The KYO-SUI attracted the attention of Hayabusa owners at the Tokyo Motorcycle Show
The venue of the Tokyo Motorcycle Show, which heralds the arrival of motorcycle season, was filled with a festive mood, and while many of the bikes on display were in vivid color schemes, the Hayabusa KYO-SUI, with its matte, subdued base color, gold accents, and gorgeous electroless nickel plating attracted the attention of many sophisticated Hayabusa owners. In addition to the parts shown at the show, they are continuing to developed more and more parts, so Hayabusa owners should keep their eyes out for future developments from AELLA.
