Here is a "KAWASAKI ZEPHYR X" custom by Webike community user "Taisho". This is a 1997 Zephyr X. The owner has been devoted to this one bike ever since purchasing it back in 2004. He’s committed to continuing his journey with this Zephyr, accident- and violation-free, while pouring even more love into it. What he’s most proud of is a rather unique custom: the Zephyr X has been fitted with a Zephyr 400 two-valve engine. He says the air-cooled inline-four two-valve engine—part of Kawasaki’s heritage—has a character that’s absolutely irresistible.

According to the owner, “There are just so many aftermarket parts out there that I’ve fallen deep into the customization rabbit hole. The direction keeps shifting—it’s like taking three steps forward and two steps back.” At one point, he had a rocket cowl mounted, a phase he now calls “an insult to the naked bike,” showing just how many transformations the bike has gone through over time. But he says he simply can’t help getting excited every time he installs a new part.

What really stands out is the bold color theme: vivid purples scattered across the all-black bike, paired with the yellow of the MARCHAL headlight and gold wheels. These complementary colors enhance each other’s appeal while creating strong visual impact. The full exhaust system by OHNISHI Heat Magic, with its vivid gradient hues incorporating those same complementary tones, also matches the color scheme well. Made from a titanium and carbon combination, this exhaust significantly reduces the bike’s overall weight as well.

The owner makes heavy use of BEET parts, and says he’s extremely satisfied with the quality, precision, and durability. His favorites are the BEET Racing Fender and BEET Super Bank Rearsets. The fender change cleaned up the look compared to the stock’s bulky setup, giving the bike a sportier feel, and the rearsets’ positioning makes it easier to grip the tank with his knees, another point he’s pleased with.

Customization is still going strong, and it’s clear this Zephyr will continue to add excitement and inspiration to the owner’s life for years to come.
