Crossover MX Spec Delivering Toughness and Outstanding Performance: HONDA CRF250L Custom by DIRTFREAK
DIRTFREAK's CRF250L
This custom build truly embodies the spirit of a dual-purpose machine, significantly boosting off-road performance while maintaining full compatibility with paved roads and everyday street use.
With upgrades to the suspension, riding position, and weight reduction, this CRF250L has been tuned to push its potential even further—not just for off-road thrills, but also for improved versatility on the street. The simple yet eye-catching graphics bring out a sense of speed and strength, and everything from the main frame to the smallest parts are treated with high-quality paint and surface finishes, giving it a refined, premium look.
Suspension Setup for Hardcore Off-Road Riding
The front forks are treated with Kashima coating for smooth movement and equipped with DRC hard springs with approximately 25% higher spring rate, enhancing stability over rough off-road terrain.
It also features ZETA Front Fork Top Caps and a ZETA Adjustable Lowering Link, offering a broader range of suspension tuning options.
A Sportier, More Aggressive Riding Position
For stable standing rides in off-road conditions, DRC Wide Foot Pegs are a must.
A RENTHAL Fat Bar, popular among motocross racers, is paired with the ZETA Triple Clamp Kit, allowing up to 16 different position settings. Additional components include ZETA Pivot Levers, adjustable to the rider’s preference, and the SEATJOY SECOND Flat Seat, which makes it easier to shift your weight forward and backward. Altogether, these upgrades offer the freedom and control needed for dynamic body movement.
Protective Parts That Reduce Risk in Case of a Fall
Essential for any dual-sport bike, this build is equipped with handguards and a skid plate. The ZETA ED Skid Plate offers solid protection for the underframe and engine.
The ZETA PRO Armor Handguards and ZETA Handguard Mount Side Type ensure firm mounting for added durability.
The DRC 161 Folding Off-Road Mirrors minimize the risk of damage in case of a fall during off-road riding.
Weight Reduction That Benefits Both On- and Off-Road Performance
Heavy components like the exhaust and top bridge have been replaced with lighter alternatives such as the DELTA Barrel 4-S Silencer/Torque Head Pipe and ZETA Triple Clamp Kit, resulting in significant weight saving. The DRC Fender Eliminator Kit further contributes to centralizing mass, delivering effects beyond just the numbers. Changing the stock battery for the DRC Tough Star Lithium Battery reduces weight by 2.2kg.
High-Quality Paint, Surface Treatment, and Custom Decals to Enhance Originality
Using GUN-KOTE, a coating technology with excellent heat dissipation, on high-heat parts like the radiator and engine cover helps support the bike's cooling performance.
For parts that require flexibility, such as shock springs and the frame, a powder coat is applied, providing a thick and flexible coating that ensures durability.
The FACTORY EFFEX Graphic Decals, which dramatically change the bike's appearance, not only add design but also provide protective benefits thanks to the thick film used.
