Nowadays GSX-R750 Needs Some Creativity for Maintenance
M-TECH's GSX-R750
GSX-R750 custom by M-TECH. The frame was cleaned to the last detail and the exteriors were fully painted. The engine was also finished with a gun coat that is now available in the same color as the stock color. In the past couple of years, OEM parts for Suzuki models, including oil-cooled GSX-R's like this one, have been discontinued one after another, and the prices of other parts have also been rising rapidly. Therefore, they proceeded to replace the parts while they were still available on the market.
When the stock clip-ons are raised, they interfere with the clamp bolt on the stock upper bracket. To solve this problem, a one-off bracket was made by moving the split part of the upper bracket 45 degrees inward. The gauges are changed to electric so that the tachometer responds to the souped-up engine. The meter unit mount is relocated from the upper bracket to the cowl bracket. This is to reduce weight and inertia around the handlebars and improve maneuverability. For total balance, the swingarm is retained, and the front and rear axle shafts and pivot shafts are replaced with our original products.
Handle
The mirrors are Magical Racing Racer Replica mirror type 2 heads and the front master is a machined Brembo body. The meter has been changed from the stock L-type top bridge mount to a cowl bracket mount to reduce inertia. The exteriors are retained.
The engine tachometer is replaced with an electric STACK ST200 to respond to the tuned engine. YOSHIMURA PRO-GRESS Meter and Ohlins steering damper are also added.
Bodyworks
The seat has also been reshaped and reupholstered to improve comfort and control. Single seat cowl is an OEM part.
Engine
The engine has been overhauled and upgraded to 815cc with M-TECH original Φ73mm forged pistons. WPC and DLC (Diamond-Like Coat) surface treatments are applied to all internal parts to reduce internal resistance and ensure the longevity of the engine. The cam chain tensioner is by M-TECH, and the exterior is finished with M-TECH's original gun coat, which is a gunmetal color equivalent to the stock at the time.
The carburetor is Yoshimura TMR-MJN Φ40mm.
Chassis
The steps are made of machined by Woodstock, and along with the seat and handlebars, elements that allow the rider to concentrate are made in various places.
Front forks have been replaced with Ohlins inverted forks. Axle shafts are M-TECH originals. The front brakes are Brembo axial billet calipers combined with Brembo discs with thick supports to prevent power from escaping.
For the rear brake, a torque rod receiver was fabricated and welded to allow rigid mounting of the GSX-R1000 OEM caliper with support for early oil-cooled models. The disc is M-TECH's original floating disc, which was previously commercialized to show the importance of the rear brake, including controllability. The full titanium 4-2-1 exhaust system is also M-TECH’s original.
Swingarm is retained and polished. The rear shocks are Ohlins. The rear axle and swingarm pivot shafts have been replaced with M-TECH originals. The wheels are forged aluminum Gale Speed Type-R, 3.50-17 for the front and 5.50-17 the rear.
