BULL DOCK's Z1 [900SUPER4]

This is a custom model "Kawasaki Z1 900 Superfour" by BULL DOCK.

"All-round capability to handle everything from sport riding to touring at a high level." is the concept of this custom. To do this, it was first decided that since the model was based on one that had been in production for almost 40 years, it had deteriorated over time and was likely to cause problems if assembled in the state it was. To clear this up, BULL DOCK had the frame inspected using a special measuring machine and corrected to the proper condition, the electrical system was replaced with new OEM and external parts to remove any concern about any kind of problems, and the engine was completely overhauled and tuned at the same time.

Engine

Big bored to 1197cc, the engine incorporates oversized pistons, high camshafts, and BULL DOCK Mccoy's cross transmission. The higher displacement of the engine has obviously increased power, making it a strong ally in sport riding. In addition, the longer stroke also allows the rpm to be kept low at constant high speeds, such as on highways, improving comfort.

Intake & Exhaust

The exhaust system is the Win Mccoy package that was developed with a mild sound and appearance in mind, while also improving ease of handling and power output.

The carburetor has been changed to the FCR-MJN, which incorporates Yoshimura's proprietary multiple jet nozzle. It can draw more power than the conventional FCR.

Since the engine has been completely remade after the full overhaul and tuning, the amount of heat generated will increase accordingly. To ensure stable performance, a round type oil cooler was adopted to improve cooling efficiency.

Chassis

For the stock frame, BULL DOCK reinforced it in 12 places. The clip-on handlebars are by Gills Touring with adjustable angles. They are anodized additionally to achieve color balance with the bike. The sharply shaped mirrors are made by Rizoma.

The swingarm is Mccoy made, which has good rigid balance. The black color is RX coated, which compared to the weaker powder coating, has a strong checmichal resistance. Also, a 520 size chain was adopted.

The unit includes a fork with an inner tube diameter of ø43 mm and a Mccoy bracket that takes into account the 17-inch front and rear wheels, the offset of which can be varied.

In the front, Sunstar Premium Racing Brake Discs and Brembo radial mount calipers are equipped. A combination that allows both high stopping power and controllability.

Bodyworks

The headlight body is blacked out for a tighter image.

A well-constructed, easy-to-operate riding position is an advantage not only for sport riding but also for long tours. Mccoy rearsets contribute to this effect.

The Supreme Seat is popular in the custom scene for reducing fatigue and making it easier to sense information from the road surface. BULL DOCK collaborated with Supreme Seat to create this seat for the Air-cooled Z.

Suspending the front fender through the sway bar would interfere with the movement of the front fork to a small degree. To avoid this, side mount brackets and carbon fenders are included in the kit.

The stock steel tank is surprisingly heavy. It is hard to notice because of the painted surface, but BULL DOCK switched to a beater aluminum tank aimed at reducing weight and at the same time, not worrying about internal rusting.
