The Monkey Africa Cover Kit is now available from Thai Minimoto!
Thai Minimoto, established in 2018, is now offering the "Monkey Africa Cover Kit," an exterior kit for the Monkey 125 (JB02 / JB03 / JB05). This is a rare replica exterior kit of the "Monkey Africa" bike.
The headlights have also been reproduced! Highly perfected exterior kit now available!
A Monkey Africa Exterior Kit was sold by Honda Access as a stock accessory part in 1991. This kit was a miniaturized version of the NXR750, Honda's entry in the Paris-Dakar Rally, and was released for the Monkey 50, which was popular at the time as a base for minimoto customs.
This kit left the dual headlights and meter visor of the Monkey BAJA as is, while adding the look of the huge rally-raid main tank and sub-tanks on the sides of the seat. Although the tank capacity was not increased because it was only a cover, the kit was a playful way to transform the Monkey into a tough Paris-Dakar spec machine.
And now, a manufacturer from Thailand has produced a replica of this kit for the Monkey 125. The original Monkey Africa Exterior Kit is a rare item that is rarely seen anymore, but riders who know of its existence are sure to get a kick out of seeing this.
The kit includes a body cover, single seat, handguards, windshield, LED headlights, front mudguard, and engine guard. You can also add block tires if you like, to give it more of a Dakar feel. What's more, this kit is available for both the 4-speed JB02 and the 5-speed JB03/JB05.
Why not take this opportunity to convert your Monkey 125 into Monkey Africa specifications?
