IKAZUCHI straight pipe exhaust for the Z900RS/Z900RS Cafe: Enhancing the neo-classic look!

 5 min read

TRICK STAR works in collaboration with us here at Webike to run the team Kawasaki Webike Trickstar, which competes in the 2023 FIM EWC (Endurance World Championship). They have recently unveiled their newly released IKAZUCHI Pipe at a motorcycle show held in their home town of Nagoya, Japan.

The Japanese word "ikazuchi" means "lightning," and the meaning behind this name comes from Zeus' thunderbolt "Keraunos", said to be the strongest weapon in all of Olympus.

Completely straight structure for a sleek appearance

TRICK STAR has always been popular for racing style exhausts such as their cylindrical shotgun exhaust and variant shaped IKAZUCHI silencer, but now they have finally released a short exhaust in a classic design for the Z900RS, called the IKAZUCHI Pipe.

Noise and emission regulations are getting stricter year by year in Japan, and TRICK STAR's exhausts have always been released in compliance with the latest regulations of the Japanese government. The new IKAZUCHI Pipe is designed in the old-fashioned thin, short style while still comlying with the latest regulations.

The merge collector is a standard 4-1 type, and the pipes are machine-bent. The exhaust pipework wraps closely around the engine, which matches perfectly with the style of the Z900RS. The material used is stainless steel, which is more resistant to rust than the common steel often used for short pipes.

Z900RS equipped with an IKAZUCHI Pipe, displayed in Nagoya. MSRP from 219,780 yen depending on the compatible year.

■As seen here, the full exhaust has a completely straight structure. An O2 sensor can also be installed in the merge collector. The exhaust itself weighs 6.2 kg, about half that of the stock part's 12 kg.

■The sound level is 82 dB at acceleration and 91 dB at proximity. Able to change the oil filter and add an optional center stand.

EWC bikes on display at the TRICK STAR booth at the Nagoya Motorcycle Show

TRICK STAR, the custom parts development and racing company led by director Ryuji Tsuruta, has announced that it will launch a new team to compete in the FIM World Endurance Championship (EWC) for the 2023 season. A race based ZX-10RR was also displayed at their booth at the Nagoya Motorcyle Show.

We look forward to the team's performance at the Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance Race scheduled to be held in Japan on August 6.

■The TRICK STAR booth was set up right across from Kawasaki's booth in hopes to get everyone excited about Kawasaki bikes, and their ZX-10RR EWC edition was also displayed.

■Another high-profile project of TRICK STAR's is the ZX-25R Turbo Challenge. Also on display was a timeline of the project up until December 2022, when a measured 250 km/h was acheived. Will their next acheivement be 350 km/hr with the ZX-4RR Turbo!?
