Maximizing Performance: YAMAHA MT-10(FZ-10) Custom
Webike's Opinion
Here is a "YAMAHA MT-10(FZ-10)" custom by Webike community user "MomijiManjyu". The owner can't get enough of the MT-10's sensual crossplane sound and muscular style. “If you can get the settings just right, it offers a powerful ride like no other,” he says. Continuously refining his bike’s performance, he has made several fine adjustments, including setting up the suspension and adjusting the oil level in the front forks.
One of his favorite brake components is the brembo Super Sport floating discs. Thicker and stiffer than the stock discs, they resist flexing even when paired with powerful brake pads. Surprisingly, they are almost the same weight as the stock version. The owner highly recommends them as reliable discs from one of the most trusted manufacturers. Additionally, he suggests the frando F901 2POT Calipers, which offer performance comparable to expensive brembo CNC calipers at a surprisingly affordable price. With a premium feel and a great value for those not particular about brand names, he considers them an excellent choice. Though he’s not keen on the appearance of the pink-painted pads, he appreciates how easy it is to check for wear due to their visibility.
He gives the Yamaha Comfort Seat a perfect score for ride quality. It absorbs fine vibrations and reduces knee bend, making long-distance rides significantly more comfortable. However, he notes that when challenging mountain roads or racing on the track, it can be harder to feel the road surface, and the seat height may feel a bit too high, potentially making handling more difficult. Another standout recommendation from the owner is the BST Carbon [Rapid TEK] Wheels, which he describes as extremely lightweight and well worth the high price. He feels that carbon wheels are necessary for dramatic performance improvements. The bike’s acceleration, deceleration, and lean-in have become much lighter, similar to a mid-sized bike. The look is understated, so if you're aiming for a more custom appearance, he suggests forged wheels instead.
