Choose the Parts Needed or Not: ZRX1200R Custom

 6 min read

STRIKER's ZRX1200R

For motorcyclists, there are no limits and no end to modifying motorcycles. Custom parts for popular models are always a big seller and will always be updated with what riders like. But after their work is done, sometimes they may find it harder to ride than it was, or not ideal for them.

On the other hand, the owner of this ZRX1200R clearly had a purpose. The suspension, which is important for riding performance, and the positioning parts, which are related to rider comfort, were replaced with products released by established brands such as Striker, Brembo, Ohlins, and Gale Speed to improve performance. The new model is designed to be even easier to ride. Alternatively, the use of a highly rigid swingarm and a racing carburetor was not in his plan because they would not match the riding style of the bike and would throw off the balance. In the pursuit of stock + α performance, the owner has determined what is necessary and what is unnecessary and has created the specifications that he desires.

Handle

The clutch master cylinder has been replaced with a Brembo radial pump to improve operability. The new clutch has many advantages, such as better connection and easier half-clutching, which is frequently used on the street.

Engine

The T-REV internal pressure control valve, which has become a standard part in the pursuit of a light engine feel, is used. It is also expected to improve the engine's revving feel and reduce engine braking.

Bodyworks

The seat is a Supreme seat, which is highly regarded in the custom scene. Highly resilient urethane is used so that the rider is not buried in the seating position, and impacts from the road surface are dispersed to reduce fatigue.

The front fender was changed to carbon fenders by SAD (Striker Aero Design) to dress up the bike. The solid construction provides a sense of security without fraying at high speeds.

Chassis

Striker rearsets are replaced. In addition to its high operability, they are adjustable to all four positions.

The front brakes are Brembo 4-pot calipers and Sunstar rotors. The two well established parts work well together to provide the necessary control and braking power.

The swingarm is stock, but are diamond coated by Nishimura Coat Grizzly to differentiate them. Gale Speed Type R wheels are used for both front and rear to reduce weight.
