A Fusion of Super Vehicles Born in the Same Era: Kawasaki Z750FX Custom

 10 min read

BULL DOCK's Z750FX

The Z750FX features a stunning blue-toned body with black hard parts, complemented by the striking combination of Lavorante Sfidare wheels and a Win McCoy Neo Exhaust, both in gold. This custom build was undertaken to fulfill the owner's desire to match the color of his Lamborghini Countach. After obtaining materials from Lamborghini, they fortunately discovered that the gold color of the Lavorante Sfidare, manufactured by BULL DOCK, perfectly matched the wheel color of the vintage Countach.

The GT-M, created with a combination of the FX and Countach, gives the impression of blending these two iconic vehicles from the same era into a modernized form. It boasts a range of upgrades, including a 1200cc engine with forged pistons, a BULL DOCK 6-speed cross transmission, ST-1 camshafts, and an oil bypass, making it a full-menu engine modification. Notably, the handlebar design deserves attention. While they remain clip-ons, the bars are positioned above the top bridge, achieving both functional beauty and a sharp aesthetic, while remaining easy to use. The owner, who also owns a Z900RS and other motorcycles, felt that the GT-M was easy to handle, without any quirks, and stands out with its lightness. It exemplifies a top-tier build that embodies the fusion of the beloved FX and Countach models from the 1970s to 1990s, now reimagined for the modern era. This GT-M has achieved a cohesive and desirable package that can serve as a benchmark for future endeavors.

Handle

The motorcycle has been upgraded with optimized McCoy stems to accommodate the switch to 17-inch wheels on the front and rear. Additionally, a compact Hyperpro Steering Damper has been installed on top of the McCoy stems. The gauges have been integrated into the stock base, and Yoshimura Progress meters have been added for enhanced functionality. Despite using clip-on handlebars, they have been positioned on the top bridge to ensure a comfortable and easy-to-handle riding position.

The left and right master cylinders are equipped with Brembo RCS, providing precise control over the braking system. The mirrors on the bike are Magical Racing NK-1 Mirrors with Type 1 Head, offering a sleek and stylish design. As for the fuel tank, it is constructed using McCoy aluminum, which ensures durability and a lightweight design.

Bodyworks

The McCoy Supreme seat has been designed to maintain the original shape while featuring different cover materials on the rider and pillion sides. It enhances comfort and improves the overall feel of the seat, providing a more enjoyable riding experience.

The body is based on the same Cyan Uranus color as the first Lamborghini imported to Japan, the Lamborghini Countach LPI800-4. Additionally, it features added stripes in the pattern of the first generation Z750FX.

Engine

The engine has been enhanced to a 1200cc capacity with the use of Pistal Racing forged pistons. A comprehensive set of modifications has been implemented, including the installation of ST-1 camshafts and the addition of an oil bypass system. The transmission has been upgraded to a McCoy 6-speed cross-type, featuring outboard and offset sprockets. The frame has also been optimized to accommodate the switch to 17-inch wheels.

Intake & Exhaust

The Yoshimura TMR-MJNφ38mm carburetor is a dual-stack funnel specification. The top cover and head cover have been coated with a red wrinkle paint finish.

The exhaust system consists of a full titanium Win McCoy Neo exhaust, paired with Win McCoy Neo Short silencers in a gold color combination.

Chassis

The front forks are Nitron with a Φ43mm, featuring a radial mount integrated design. The front brakes consist of Brembo GP4RXCNCP432 calipers in nickel coating, paired with McCoy x Sunstar collaboration 320mm discs. The gold color wheel closely resembles the gold shade of the Lamborghini Countach LPI800-4, creating a similar impression.

The rear brake setup includes a Brembo CNCP234 caliper and McCoy x Sunstar brake disc. The swingarm is constructed using 7N01 cross-section material, specifically designed by McCoy.

The rear shock is the McCoy Nitron in black. The wheels are fitted with the lightweight and highly rigid Lavorante Sfidare, with sizes of 3.50-17 for the front and 6.00-17 for the rear.
