Kawasaki Z750FX Custom by POWER BUILDER
POWER BUILDER's Z750FX
On this Z750FX custom, displacement was increased to 1166cc by using Z1000MkII crankshafts in response to the owner's request for more power. The twin plugs improve combustion efficiency, and Yoshimura ST-2 camshafts have been introduced. Other modifications have been made throughout the bike to achieve 130㎰. The suspension has also been upgraded to accommodate higher power.
KEIHIN CR carburetor is extremely powerful when accelerating rapidly from the mid RPM range. The response is so good that it is hard to believe that the machine was made more than 35 years ago. Power and ease of handling are often at odds with each other, but the entire chassis has been rebuilt to match the increased displacement, which has led to a well-balanced performance.
Handle
The handlebar is made by POWER BUILDER. It features a very low position for a handlebar while keeping the width low. It is also highly maneuverable and stable.
AP Racing brake master is used to match the calipers. This master allows the rider to operate the brakes without hesitation, and also provides a high degree of control.
Engine
The advantages of twin plugs include reliable ignition and improved combustion efficiency, but it is also a difficult work.
The coil for the AS Uotani twin plugs is used to optimize the ignition timing.
The Z1000Mk crankshaft is used to increase the displacement to 1,166cc. The combination of YOSHIMURA ST-2 camshafts and other components resulted in a characteristic that allows the engine to blow up to the limit.
Intake & Exhaust
KEIHIN CR carburetor is chosen to match the image. The diameter was set up to 33mm to provide easy handling from the low RPM range and sharp acceleration in the high RPM range.
POWER BUILDER original exhaust system. The exhaust pipe uses a one-piece conical header. With its spiral collector, this pipe looks good, and also performs well.
Frame
The swingarm is made by Technical Works. Not only does it look good, but it also ensures high rigidity, which leads to a safety at high speeds.
Chassis
JB POWER KYB front forks are installed with one-off brackets made by Technical Works. Offset is 38mm for light handling.
JB POWER KYB front forks incorporate the company's original springs to achieve high road-following performance.
AP Racing 4-pot caliper and SUNSTAR Φ320mm rotor provide more than sufficient braking power and high controllability. The wheels are repainted Morris wheels.
The rear shocks are by QUANTUM. The simple design and color scheme that fits the air-cooled Z series are also popular.
AP Racing's CP3696 caliper is chosen for the rear brake. Its braking power seems to be as strong as support the bike's posture.
