Enjoying the Latest Tech: KAWASAKI Ninja 1000SX Custom
Webike's Opinion
Here is a "KAWASAKI Ninja 1000SX" custom by Webike community user "wanwankoro4091". While his long-time companion—a 1999 Sportster XL1200S he'd ridden for over 20 years—was in the shop for repairs, the owner happened to stop by a motorcycle dealer. On a whim, and without even taking a test ride, he purchased the Ninja 1000SX that very day. He was drawn to its impressive array of modern features, and he remembered a friend, also a bike enthusiast, saying, “For these specs, that price is a bargain,” which convinced him to make the purchase. (We’ll skip over the part where his wife was furious afterward.)
The Ninja 1000SX is a remarkable upgrade from the previous Ninja 1000. Its advanced ABS system offers reliable, controlled braking even mid-corner, while comfort-focused features like grip heaters, cruise control, and a quickshifter further enhance the riding experience. It can rightly be called the ideal evolution for dedicated Ninja fans.
Among the owner’s favorite features include the surprisingly easy-to-read TFT display and the way it pairs with his smartphone, giving the experience a playful, techy feel. He also appreciates the smooth revving characteristic of Kawasaki’s signature inline-four engine. The Kawasaki Side Panniers are easy to attach and remove depending on the circumstance, and they don’t look like an afterthought. The one thing he really couldn’t stand was the stock exhaust, so he went back and forth between a TRICKSTAR IKAZUCHI and an Akrapovic slip-on, eventually settling on the black IKAZUCHI. He’s impressed by its performance, though he notes that it is prone to visible scratches, which riders should be prepared for.
What impressed him most, however, were the MICHELIN POWER GP tires, with their exceptional grip, especially in high-speed corners, and their ability to absorb bumps and rough surfaces without bouncing around. He says they’re perfect for mountain passes during a touring trip. In the owner’s words: “The Ninja 1000SX’s greatest trait may be that it has no particular quirks—that, in itself, is its defining characteristic. It’s like an honor student who seems calm and composed but transforms entirely when pushed. It’s such a well-rounded machine that I’m not sure if I’ll keep riding it for years to come or end up craving something with more edge."
