Aluminum Frame for Vertical Engine Spec: Honda Monkey Custom

Monkey Custom by G-craft

Honda has many classic models, one of the most unforgettable is the Minimoto "Monkey". With a small and exquisite body, ultra-low fuel consumption, the Monkey has been popular for more than half a century, but also let more people understand what "Big fun in the small body" means when riding a mini bike.

As for the origin of the name "Monkey," Honda's official website explains that it was named after the image of a cute little leisure bike, but another theory is that the rider on the Monkey resembles a monkey. Doesn't matter which though, because today we bring you a novelty modification of a Monkey by G-craft.

Engine

A vertical engine for Ape and XR series on this Monkey. Honda's minimoto engines include the horizontal engine used in the Monkey and Cub, and the vertical engine used in the Ape.(Although the stock Cub and Monkey are equipped with the same type of horizontal engine, they have different settings.)

In general, vertical engines can utilize the weight of the piston and connecting rods (the universal gravitational force that causes objects to fall to the ground), which allows the crankshaft to move smoothly and easily generate power. People say minimotos are positioned as sports models with an emphasis on riding for those with vertical engines, and as practical models with an emphasis on fuel economy and convenience for those with horizontal engines, or as leisure models with an emphasis on fun.

Chassis

In order for this engine to fit in, a special frame is needed. G-craft developed the GC-018 frame that was a new challenge for them. It is a unique frame that can accommodate the vertical engine of the Ape and XR series, while the exterior can be used for a Monkey. A unique shape, the main pipe is made of 7N01 aluminum, and the seat rail is made of machined blocks.

The frame is compatible with 10-inch wide wheels front and rear. 3.5J front and 5.5J rear, and both the stem kit and swingarms are designed to be used with the Monkey.

It is a new style that goes beyond the boundaries of a leisure bike and becomes more like a "motorcycle".

Body

When talking about customization of the Monkey, customization itself is not complete without the seat and exterior parts. G-craft used a stepped tuck-roll seat on this model. This kind of custom seat is designed for comfort and appearance, and the optimal urethane sponge to avoid buttocks pain even after riding for a long time.

The tank is stock. I prefer this style without fancy painting works, simple but performance. This is a complete custom machine for the challengers who wants to create a vehicle that cannot be seen anywhere else.
