【What made you decide the purchase?】
It is the second Helmet since I started riding Motorcycle. Previously I used SHOEI's GT-Air.
There are two motivations to purchase HORNET ADV.
One thing that interested in Off-road.
Currently I am riding in CB 400 SB, but recently I'm also interested in Off-road, I think that I want an off-road car as Second Motorcycle.
Therefore, both on road vehicles and off-road vehicles can be used comfortably "Off-Road Helmet with Shield" I chose Category called.
Regarding the appearance, in recent years there is also a trend of AdventureMotorcycle, and I think that Match is done also to Tourer-like CB 400 SB without any discomfort.
And another, the motivation of the biggest is the presence of Visor.
Because I am on the Motorcycle for the main purpose of Touring, I always wanted some kind of sunshade function.
The existence of Inner Visor was decisive in choosing GT - Aira for the first Helmet, but as we were using it, we saw several drawbacks of Inner Visor.
- Because the color of Inner Visor is thin,. Strong sunlight from the front of me can not be prevented, eventually it's dazzling and I can not see the front.
- Because Inner Visor is cloudy, it was cloudy when it was about to be used, and cloudiness was difficult to remove, so it was not useful. (Especially winter)
Of course the sun from the side - Sunbeams leaves - Although Inner Visor was sufficiently effective also in the reflection of Asphalt, the most dangerous "The front can not be seen with the sun from the front" In Case I was almost helpless, so I thought that Helmet of Outerwith Visor would be more effective.
Moreover, there was also an expectation that OuterVisor could prevent rain as well as sunshine to some extent.
For OuterVisor's Helmet we also considered ARAI's PROShadeSystem, but since PROShade is linked with Shield and Visor and Visor also disappears out of sight when releasing the Shield, I often open the Shield and run I removed it from the candidate.
【How was it actually used?】
Comprehensively I am pretty happy, but I feel that it is not completely dissatisfied.
Since I used it for about half a year since I replaced it, I mainly explain what I felt in comparison with GT-Air.
- About chin string
Before the replacement, this was one concern. In GT-Air it was a one-touch Rachet Type, whereas HORNET ADV is a common DRing formula.
In my case, it takes 2 to 3 seconds to tighten it if it is a Rachet Type, about 1 second to dismount it, it takes 10 to 15 seconds to tighten it if it is a DRing expression, it takes about 5 to 10 seconds to remove it.
In Situation like going to shopping in the neighborhood, you may feel annoying because you descend frequently, but my use is Touring, once you wear it you never take off for a while so Stress is felt at the moment not.
- About Wind Cutting sound
It seems that GT-Air was quieter.
For HORNET, Visor's Quantity : Pair (for Left and Right) From around the base of "Bobo Bobo" And low Wind Cutting sound is slightly larger than Large.
However, because the tightness is high "Hugh, Pee" etc. I can not hear the high Wind Cutting sound of, and I personally do not mind that much.
By the way, I tried running even with Visor removed, but I think that the Largeness of Wind Cutting sound did not change.
- About Ventilation
The Ventilation of GT-Air has three places. mouth - Forehead - It is the back of the head.

The forehead and the top of the head do not feel much effect like GT-Air, but the mouth Ventilation works quite well.
As expected there are only Off-Road Helmet, 20 to 30 km / From about h, the wind begins to enter, 50 to 60 km / The wind of Handy electric fan hits Susu and face in h.
Thanks to a considerable relief of breath, breathing is easy and even when you close the shield you can take Rapidly cloudy in Glasses.
Just because it is extremely ventilated, it is very cold when winter has opened the mouth Ventilation.
By the way, Ventilation at the top of the head is designed to adjust the opening and closing on the Visor side, since the round hole is only opened in the HelmetBody, when using the Visor and using it, water will rise from the top of the head as it rains I think that it will infiltrate (See photo).
- About interior
Of course the full interior is removable.
Cheek Pad - Center pad (Top of the head) For GT-Air, both of which are nice brushed brushed material, HORNET ADV is a brushed Material though HORNET ADV is a brushed Material, but Center pad is Meshish and textured and it is a material that water brush seems to be good.
I think that this is a consideration unique to MODEL specializing in off-road driving sweating the amount of Large.
In comparison with Shoei and ARAI, ARAI thinks that the interior is thick, soft and has a tendency to wear comfortably.
While the ARAI's tour cross 3 that tried on shop wrapped the entire head softly, the center pad of HORNET ADV is quite thin, and the hard feel of foamed styrene is transmitted to some extent through Pad.
That's why my head does not hurt, but it may be uncomfortable for some people.
- About Visor
There is an effect of the shade. I think that sunlight from the front is considerably prevented. (As for rain, I have never been descended, so I add it in comments as soon as I experience it. )
However, because Visor is Small for the first time, in order to prevent the sun from a low position, I must face my head a lot.
Since the head is lowered until the tip of the Visor overlaps with the horizon, the front view becomes worse for the Large width.
Also, just by lowering the head, the neck is tightened with the chin cord, so it will be in a shape to lower the head while the neck protrudes forward, maintaining this posture is tiring.
As a countermeasure, when you rotate your eyes full with helmet's chin in the manner of wearing a hat in the eye, the angle of lowering the head is reduced as nature and Visor come down.
Regarding sunlight and reflection from the side, it can not be prevented by the Visor of Off-Road Helmet, so that the inher visor's GT-Air will rise.
Especially sunlight from the side is glittering and annoying, but there is no danger that the front will not be seen at all like the sun from the front, so we are divorced as patience.
- About Visor's air resistance

As mentioned earlier, Visor was smaller than I thought, the shading effect was not as perfect as I expected.
