[How is it used? Rear 17in. to adjust the ride height. OHLINS anyway. First this. And Custom feel and look. It is enough to set it with the weight. I don't run Circuit or the mountains. It is also cosy because it can be used for a long time.

It's amazing that OHLINS is a viable company on its own.
I purchased this Ohlins suspension set to replace my OE one for my W650, the OE shocks are a lot softer and provide comfortable city ride and long touring. This Ohlins sets is firm enough on bound and rebound, it is suitable for fast road and twisty ride but not stiff at all. I also purchased the Hyperpro front spring set to replace the OE fork as well, I need to remove the center stand to avoid scratching in twisty road ride. It is not cheap product but very satisfy with its performance.View Detail
The W650 are all over 10 years old, and your rear shock should be way too soft and springy to feel safe when riding. Getting this shock is probably the best mod. feels so much more confidence with these shock into a corner. These shock are now the newer version. black spring and grey color body. the V1 was black spring with a yellowish metal. the new version looks much more classic with the W. V1 looks too modern. you now can fit your original shock back into the box with the soft foam inserts. Before, with the V1, it was styro foam and the original does not fit. Same length as the original shock. for W650, upper torque is 59nm and bottom is 34nm. Easy to change if you have torque rench. the price increased 10% last year. so 4 star.View Detail
It feels hard when you straddle it, but when you actually drive it, it sticks well and follows you well. It doesn't have any riding skills, but its turning performance is far better than those of the cheap ones. If you're going to buy something halfway through, I recommend buying this product from the beginning. There are two types of exteriors, the one I have is a year old and slightly flashier. If you're buying one, I think the current Silver one color matches well.
There are often people who install it backwards on their blogs or something, but since it's such a good thing, the direction of the installation is Please read the Instruction Manual carefully and install it. It's a waste of time (I don't know if it will change the performance, but I think it can perform well enough as instructed. (see below)

Honestly was expecting more from it, took it to a suspension shop to tune to my spec, is it worth 1400 Aud, approximately 300 Aud FeDex and about 300 Aud custom clearance? Maybe. Looks nice, I had a couple of good Ohlins shocks on my track bikes which offered more adjustment and when acceleration it is night and day difference, but the category of this bike is still a more naked/sport touring bike, maybe my mindset is wrong, rode about 200kms now, I have done: heavy, sharp, smooth acceleration, top speed, low speed, stoppies, some twisties, did not meet my performance level exception, but again, maybe Ohlins intentionally wants more comfort rather than performance? Great looking tho, texture and everything up to Ohlins standard, this is just a short term review, who knows, maybe the setting for currently is all wrong, might have to tune it again. Will write a long term experience later but currently that's how I feel.View Detail

This was a upgrade from a GO Race tuned rear shock. Granted the go race most likely needed to be serviced, but this was big improvment. I can't say it's worth the money unless you just want to spend some money...but nice if you do. View Detail
About quality and texture: I am happy with the quality of the rear shock absorber from Ohins, only the best materials used and surface finishes obtained as you would expect for the price. Almost exclusively made from aluminium to keep the weight down and anodised for durability. About the feeling of use: The look of this rear shock absorber fitted to the Grom is sensational and the feel from the rear end while riding is like a completely different motorcycle now, with the ability to adjust pre-load, rebound and compression the adjustments are endless. Products to buy together: The Ohlins fork insert kit would also be desirable to purchase along side their rear shock absorber but sadly is not currently available here on Webike so would need to be purchased elsewhere. Difficulty of installation: The process to install takes about an hour, only 2 bolts holding it in place, I removed the rear hugger, seat and rear plastics then supported the rear of the motorcyce with an A frame and strap. A little difficult to do. Cost performance and comparison with other products: An extremely expensive option for a rear shock absorber for the Grom but if you have the money to spare you will not be disappointed. Any aftermarket rear shock absorber will be better then the Honda one and the options available from YSS should be looked at if your budget is limited. About shipping and packaging: Sea frieght is my preferred method of shipping due to the lower cost and it is fantastic that it has returned as an option once again so I can put my money toward parts and not high shipping costs. Webike kept me updated on the status of my order up to when it shipped. The parcel arrived within the expected date range and was well packaged with no chance of the part being damaged.
