I was looking for a suitable fast throttle for my 1981 suzuki gsx1100e which i have already modified with a lot of performance parts. To complement the yoshimura TMR-MJN racing carburetors, i need to install the fast throttle. I have used ACTIVE products before and decided to try the ACTIVE aluminium fast throttle holder Type-2 (the slimmest profile) with the ACTIVE cables. it looks very beautiful and fully complement the overall look and feel of the modified GSX1100E. I have decided to go for the titanium gold colour, since the bike has a bit of gold colour and elements. after installation, the heavy feel of the yoshimura tmr-mjn carburetors feel much lighter, with better response. I needed to have a double cable throttle to install a FCR carburetor.
Type 2 is 1.6cm thick, so it's good for motorcycles that have allowance around the throttle area. It is a simple classical style throttle holder. But it's really delicately made and beautiful. You will immediately notice the difference of performance level and texture if you compromise on simple parts like this. And you can see ACTIVE's sincere attitude towards manufacturing in their parts.
The manual is clearly written. You just need to pierce the handle ring and then pierce this holder. Tighten the set screws evenly to the three screw holes. Tighten the ring and fix it to the handle pipe. Easy.
There are lots of ACTIVE throttle parts, and they are good because they are inexpensive. You better check the condition of your bike (switch box width, brake lever angle or cable wiring, etc.) before you choose your throttle wire from the three options. (Thickness and maintenance method differ.) The ACTIVE WEB catalog of Webike contains all the necessary information and is really helpful. So you better check it before you actually make your order. I bought the holder, inner and wire separately, but if you are not so sure, you can buy an exclusive kit designed by model.
Finally, if you are to choose ACTIVE throttle products, you need to coordinate it with ACTIVE products, and you may think that lacks versatility. It got cold so we planned to install Honda OEMGrip heater. However, the width of High Solo Holder of already installed antlion is too narrow and can not be physically combined.
