Excellent tool to have in the garage and not too expensive
Set the depth indicated on the metal tube as required, then pull out any excess oil to meet factory oil height specification. The markings on the tube were most helpful to do that. Having only used it on one pair of fork legs, I can't really address its long term durability but it seems like it would continue to work for several more sessions.edit; My feelings are a bit mixed about this tool. It is very simple to use, reasonably priced, and nice to have. But when using it, the plunger mechanism got stuck several times and was shockingly hard to free up. This is very odd but it felt like the steel tube got clogged and yet I was using new, 5W oil and there were no impurities.The rubber plunger inside the syringe is so tacky, it?s hard to pull. At times I pull so hard I?m concerned it may give, flinging fork oil everywhere.

Previous reviews mentioned that the tool got damaged. It has a design flaw. Similar tools have addressed this issue. I use the metal tool for the front suspension seals. I bought it to replace the piston ring of the rear suspension. I tried installing the ring without this tool, and it got damaged. I wanted to save a few bucks so I decided to change my bike's brake pads and rotors myself over the weekend.
