Great Light, but a bit of a struggle for ME to install
The LED is super bright and for this the 5 Stars, but the manual could be better made, I took me a bit more time to install than I thought I would, as I needed to assemble the electrical wiring with the appropriate connectors. Why 3 individual ground wires? This could be combined to one!? On the end everything worked out, as I connected the Plus wire to a Rowe Amplink to supply the current. Again, a superior bright light compared with the standard head light of the Monkey Z125.
Fits: HONDA Monkey 125 JB02-1000001 and later, HONDA Monkey 125 MLHJB02, HONDA GROM JC61-1000001 or later / JC61-1300001 or later / JC75-1000001 or later, HONDA , HONDA MSX125 MLHJC61
The Instruction Manual is difficult to understand. The attached photo is WhiteBlack and pretty hard to tell. Wiring diagram is included, but it is hard for a layman to understand how the Plus power supply is taken and how the Minus power supply is used. If you are not familiar with the electrical system, it is better to ask the shop. I found a color photo version of the explanation in PDF format on the Net. It took about two hours of hard work to complete the installation. If you're a good tinkerer with Motorcycle, it might take you an hour or so to complete. Since it is an LED, the light diffuses, so it is better to have the optical axis as close to the bottom as possible. The brightness is perfect. Looked foward installing the Takegawa Slipper Clutch on my Monkey Z125, but because of confusing installation instructions, the original Japanese and English versions are different, even the torque values differ, I was not able to finish the installation.I received within the package some washers, for which there is no indication on the English/Japanese install manuals, where, with which part to use or replace them. In watching some YouTube installations (for example 'Small Bore&More) for the Takegawa Slipper Clutch, they did not have some of the parts I received.Confusing.Anyway, failure on my side, I had to revert back to the original clutch. With the Ohlins I got a much better handling of my (Yellow) Monkey on country roads, as well as on gravel.The 'install' booklet does not provide really any information, guess it doesn't need to, as it is normally an easy install. However if you got a grab bar or rear carrier as I have, I wished the install booklet would have given me some indication, which washer to use and some gudelines how to change the coil springs (if necessary) Lucky me I used the installed ones, for below 80kg, but I guess this would be easy as well!?In addition I changed the stock shock nuts with the SP Takegawa stainless ones, looks good.View Detail
The Headlight Grill frpm Hepco&Becker I purchased arrived a bit deformed, squashed (happened during shipping to my destination?) Before installing it, i had to straighten it out to fit the headlight accordingly. All in all a solid piece and it looks good.View Detail
