Same Classic Look but Much Better Performing Rear Shocks for the Monkey
About quality and texture: I am happy with the quality of the 330mm rear shock absorbers from SP Takegawa. High quality chrome plated shock body and red powder coated spring are hard to pass on for the classic look.About the feeling of use: Even though they look very similar looking to the OEM Honda rear shock absorbers these ones from SP Takegawa have a more premium finish and there is no doubt they perform better, mainly due to their heavier rated springs.Products to buy together: Some heavier springs for the front forks would also be desirable to purchase alongside the 330mm rear shock absorbers.Difficulty of installation: The process to install takes about three quarters of an hour, 2 acorn nuts per shock and multiple washers are all that is involved to be removed and installed for the rear shock replacement. Not difficult to do.Cost performance and comparison with other products: Good costing as you are getting a high quality finished set of rear shock absorbers with performance that will suit most Monkey 125 riders and they are affordable as compared to most of the other options here on Webike which are much more expensive.About shipping and packaging: FEDEX and DHL shipping are the only options for rear shock absorbers which is quite expensive. Webike kept me updated on the status of my order up to when it shipped. The parcel arrived within the expected date range and was well packaged with no chance of the part being damaged.Any concerns, cautions, or advice when purchasing: Being the same length as the OEM Honda rear shock absorbers these are a straight swap with no adjusting of any others components of the Monkey, you just get a more suitable rated spring and pre-load adjustment.
Fits: HONDA CT125 (JA55-1000001 and later), HONDA CROSS CUB50 (AA06-1000001 or later), HONDA CROSSCUB110 (JA45-1000001 and later), HONDA CROSS CUB (JA10-4000001 and later), HONDA SUPER CUB110 PRO (JA42-1000001 and later)
About quality and texture, I can confirm that the quality is great and that the material used is steel with a mixtures of chrome plating for the shock body and gloss black powder coating for the springs. About the feeling of use, I am excited to now have adjustment available via the 5-way preload collar for when adding additional weight and they are nice and simply styled to match the overall original look of the bike. Products to buy together, A fork upgrade kit from the likes of YSS would also be ideal to add to your cart to make the bike more useable in all riding conditions. Difficulty of installation, I can say the fitment of the rear shock absorbers was very easy due to the simple nature of the task and ease of access to the mounting nuts. Cost performance and comparison with other products, The pricing of this product is great as you are receiving a nicely styled set of shocks with quality surface finishes. Other popular brands also start their line-up with similar pricing and features. About shipping and packaging, My order was shipped within 48 hours of me placing the order and I received a few emails advising me of the status up until the order was dispatched. I find the link supplied to track my order very useful and the order arrived within the estimated date range. Any concerns, cautions, or advice when purchasing, I have no concerns or cautions when purchasing from Webike. I cannot recommend Webike enough for the majority of your biking needs. They not only sell aftermarket parts and bike gear but also OEM parts for your repairs and servicing needs. View Detail
I bought these to try and modify for my Trail 90 and it didn't quite work out. The shocks themselves are nice and WeBike shipped right away. Note for other people that it's not a good option for a Honda Trail90. View Detail
* About quality and texture, Impressive looking shock with it's much larger in diameter spring coils are made from steel and powder coated red, while the shock body is made from steel and finished in a durable chrome plating.* About the feeling of use, The pre-load adjustment is really nice to have to be able to correctly setup for weight differences on the rear end. The performance is greatly improved on all surfaces and just being able to ride with no more concerns is fantastic.* Products to buy together, The front forks performance or lack of will be more noticeable now so a set of fork springs from Kitaco with the correct spring rate to suit your weight is what you also want to purchase to complete the suspension upgrades.* Difficulty of installation, Installation requires a lift to support the motorcycle from the subframe during the replacement and removal of the left body panel and wheel hugger to access the bolts. The process was completed in 40 minutes with no difficultly.* Cost performance and comparison with other products, A very reasonable prices rear shock absorber and a great product with it's good looks and performance which are well above the Honda OEM one. If you have more money to spend, then you can purchase a rear shock absorber with more features.* About shipping and packaging, I am happy to wait 8 weeks on average for my parts to arrive in Sydney Australia via Webike's sea freight which comes with tracking and insurance so I know I'm covered in case something was to go wrong but with there outstanding bubble wrapping and boxing there have been no problems.* Any concerns, cautions, or advice when purchasing, A very good choice for your average rider, no need for Ohlins. Use the product reviews to assist in making a decision on your purchase.View Detail
The Takegawa shocks were really easy to fit and have really transformed the comfort and handling of my C125. The red spring colour suits the grey paint and coordinates well with the Honda seat and Nissin twin pot brake caliper.View Detail
These springs are harder than kitacos. For sporty driving I would recommend takegawa. They also look neatly finished. No complaints about these springsView Detail
About quality and texture: I am happy with the quality of the headlight cover from Honda. Made from ABS plastic and finished in the Ross White paint colour.About the feeling of use: Perfect replacement part from Honda with a quality fit and finish you would expect when you need to replace damaged parts. Products to buy together: The fuel tank center cover is another high wear item due to the positioning on the Grom that also needed replacing to freshen up things. Difficulty of installation: The process to install takes about 30 minutes, remove the 4 allen key fasteners on the side to release the headlight assembly and then disconnect the 2 electrical connectors for removal. Remove the side covers and now you have access to replace the headlight cover. Reverse then process to complete the installation. Not difficult to do. Cost performance and comparison with other products: High cost for the Ross White headlight cover when compared to other replacement headlight cover colours available like the Mat Silver.About shipping and packaging: a freight was my preferred method of shipping due to the lower cost but currently this service is unavailable from Japan Post, EMS is much faster which is nice. Webike kept me updated on the status of my order up to when it shipped. The parcel arrived within the expected date range and was well packaged with no chance of the part being damaged.Any concerns, cautions, or advice when purchasing: The Webike OEM parts section will be most helpful for sourcing other parts needed for your repairs and to assist the Ross White colour code is NH196.View Detail
About quality and texture: I am happy with the quality of the oil seals from CF Posh, the outer diameter of the oil seals are a hard plastic to press into the crankshaft case while the inner diameter of the oil seals are a soft rubber to form an oil tight seal against the metal shafts. About the feeling of use: The crankshaft cases had been opened for internal upgrades and I thought it would be wise to also renew these oil seals to remove the chance of oil leaks from these two points soon after the rebuild, no oil leaks to date.Products to buy together: The crankcase cover gasket set from CF Posh would also be desirable to purchase along side these oil seals as these gaskets do need replacing during routine maintenance. Difficulty of installation: The process to install takes about 45 minutes, remove the front sprocket cover and front sprocket and then pry out the old oil seal. Position the new oil seal and press it into the case. Same process for the shift shaft but you need to remove the shift linkage for access. Not difficult to do. Cost performance and comparison with other products: Good costing as you are getting a quality set of oil seals from CF Posh and it was in stock ready to ship unlike the individual Honda oil seals but the pricing from Thai Honda motorcycle parts is cheaper. About shipping and packaging: Sea freight was my preferred method of shipping due to the lower cost but currently this service is unavailable from Japan Post, EMS is much faster which is nice. Webike kept me updated on the status of my order up to when it shipped. The parcel arrived within the expected date range and was well packaged with no chance of the part being damaged. Any concerns, cautions, or advice when purchasing: I have purchased a few items from CF Posh now and am happy to recommend them as their quality is excellent and their pricing is competitive.View Detail
About quality and texture: I am happy with the quality of the Monkey helmet from Honda riding gear. The red and white colouring has a nice gloss finish and the material used inside the helmet are just basic and nothing fancy.About the feeling of use: I bought this helmet just for those special group rides on the Monkey 125 and have to say it has the desired affect I was after and is comfortable for low to medium speed riding. About Design: I just love the red and white colouring that matches my 2018 Honda Monkey 125 so well, the monkey logos are a laugh and the bubble visor is just so retro and cool.About Size Chart: My head measurement matched the chart for a medium size which I bought but the helmet is a little bigger then I would have liked, the adjustable sponge inserts may help but it would have been nice if a size small was available.Cost performance and comparison with other products: A good quality helmet but the price is high when compared to similar styled open face helmets like the Lead Barton BC-10 jet helmet which would also look cool wearing when riding the Monkey 125 but this is a special Honda Monkey helmet so the extra cost is to be expected.About shipping and packaging: Sea frieght was my preferred method of shipping due to the lower cost but currently this service is unavailable from Japan Post, EMS is much faster which is nice. Webike kept me updated on the status of my order up to when it shipped. The parcel arrived within the expected date range and was well packaged with no chance of the part being damaged.Any concerns, cautions, or advice when purchasing: Don't be disappointed it you do not have a red Monkey as Honda offer the Monkey helmet in a variety of colours that are sure to suit your Monkey.View Detail
About quality and texture: I am happy with the quality of the Monkey 50th anniversary model fuel tank sticker from Honda. Manufactured with a chrome surface finish and measuring 8 cm by 4.5 cm in size. About the feeling of use: The size is perfect for many applications other than the fuel tank but I am excited to be adding it to my Monkey 125 fuel tank as the start of turning mine into a Monkey Z50 50th anniversary model tribute bike. Products to buy together: The left and right Monkey 50th anniversary model fuel tank emblems would also be desirable to purchase alongside the Monkey 50th anniversary model fuel tank sticker. Difficulty of installation: The process to install takes just a few minutes, give the surface you wish to fit the sticker to a wipe down, peel the backing, position sticker and apply. A little more difficult to fit the compared to a vinyl sticker. Cost performance and comparison with other products: Good costing as you are getting a high quality genuine Honda sticker at a fair price but not as cheap when compared to the more general genuine Honda stickers that are available. Any concerns, cautions, or advice when purchasing: The Webike OEM parts section will be most helpful for sourcing other parts needed for your repairs.View Detail
About quality and texture: I am happy with the quality of the CPR8EA-9 standard spark plug from NGK, the properties of the standard NGK spark plug like copper cored center electrode ensure a reliable spark.About the feeling of use: The NGK CPR8EA-9 spark plug is better suited to the Monkey 143cc BBK then the previously installed NGK CR9E, the warmer rating ensures a trouble free spark in the cooler months when riding at lower RPMs.Products to buy together: NGK also offer high performance spark plug caps which would also be desirable to purchase alongside the NGK CPR8EA-9 standard spark plug to remove any chance of the performance of the standard spark plug being decreased. Difficulty of installation: The process to install takes about 5 minutes. Firstly, check the spark plug gap and adjust if required, then simply remove and install the spark plug and refit the spark plug cap securely. Not difficult to do. Cost performance and comparison with other products: Good costing as you are getting a quality standard spark plug at a great price that is more then suitable for the perforamce requirement of the Monkey 143cc BBK when considering the additional cost and minimal performace advantage of the iridium spark plug.About shipping and packaging: Sea freight was my preferred method of shipping due to the lower cost but currently this service is unavailable from Japan Post, EMS is much faster which is nice. Webike kept me updated on the status of my order up to when it shipped. The parcel arrived within the expected date range and was well packaged with no chance of the part being damaged. Any concerns, cautions, or advice when purchasing: The original Honda spark plug heat rating is 6. Recommended heat rating for the stock engine is 6 or 7 and recommended heat rating for a big bore or high compression engines is 8 or 9.View Detail
