About quality and texture - This an axact copy of the original LC tank and its fits correctly. One thing to note, In the photos the primer is white, but it is grey now. About the feeling of use - The lines are sharp and well formed and it follows the original faithfully.Products to buy together - side panels, tail and front mudguard.Difficulty of installation - easy, fits like the original. Easily painted and looks great when fitted.Cost performance and comparison with other products - there is nothing else like this, it is the only one, but the cost is fair for the quality.About shipping and packaging - no damage in shipping so I would say well wrapped.Any concerns, cautions, or advice when purchasing - no concerns, its a great product. If you need a new tank its a great option.
About quality and texture - Retro have done a decent job with this. Solid steel and while its not perfect with the steel a little rippled as mentioned in the listing, its not that bad really and a skim of filler is an easy fix.About the feeling of use - Fits well but is very tight on the front mounts. This could be improved I think.Products to buy together - some new tank rubbers maybe?Difficulty of installation - its drops into place ok, needed a rubber hammer to get it forward enough on the mounts. Cost performance and comparison with other products - No one else makes a tank for this bike. Its not perfect but much better than an old rusty Yamaha one.About shipping and packaging - arrived well packed and undamaged.Any concerns, cautions, or advice when purchasing - Only the fit isnt perfect and the ripples in the steel. All fixable and in my view much better than an old rusted OEM tank which needs way more work.View Detail
Ok this review is in a few sections:Shape: The tank is an excellent copy of the original tank. Very happy with that aspect.Fit:It fits the bike perfectly and all the parts fit on it fine as well. Its a well executed copy for sure.Paint:This is where it goes off the rails a bit. This is a A$260ish paint job so its hard to be too picky i guess? Anyway... Its what a local high quality paint shop called 'an 80% job'. Its ok, but there are some marks in the clear and its a bit orange peely. The painted 'decal stripes' are well done and it looks good from a few paces. Colour:Its not OEM. The maroon should be much more red and the white pearl is very 'champagne'. I kinda like it, but it not the clean bright version you might expect.Delivery:It got damaged on the underside edge of the seam during the shipping as the box was only the one used for a tank in primer and very little extra packing was used, this is rare for a part from Japan to be honest. Sadly, I didnt notice this until almost a year was passed and i went to use it so i was stuck with the problem.I did ask the company who did the paint (using the webike message service) for information about the paint in the hope of having some mixed locally and theyt refused to share that information. This was very dissapointing as i am left with a tank with a 10c piece sized chip from its lower seam and a bad taste in my mouth.Summary: the paint is A$260 and you get what you pay for, the base tank is excellent.View Detail
About quality and texture - The springs are well made and are the correct specs for the 1980-82 RZ250/350 (known as RD250LC and RD350LC outside of Japan) so fit well. About the feeling of use - These springs are designed to feel more firm than the original and I think this works much better for the old LC forks.Products to buy together - I alsways fit new OEM Yamaha fork seals.Difficulty of installation - They are a little harder to fit than the old, well used originals. Not least as the springs are stronger than original, so you will need help to push the top back into place. Get a helper if you can to do this. Be aware that there are instructions with these springs but they are in Japanese but these are an easy fit and there is nothing special to do over a normal fork spring rebuild.Cost performance and comparison with other products - These are cheaper than many of the others in the marketplace and BEET is a brand well known for quality so for cost vs price I believe that these springs are good value. About shipping and packaging - Parcel was well packed and arrived without problem. Any concerns, cautions, or advice when purchasing - All the aftermarket springs do much the same thing, but each offers different specs (weights / strength of the spring in compression etc) so it is really personal preference about how you like the feel when uprated parts are fitted. At this price its easy to try and few and see which you prefer.View Detail
About quality and texture - Exact copy of the original Yamaha part.About the feeling of use - Chroms feels good and I have had no problems with chipping or thin plating.Products to buy together - get some fork seals and new oil.Difficulty of installation - Forks are not that hard on these bikes, check out a manual and you'll see ther are not really any special tools needed.Cost performance and comparison with other products - OEM are NLA now, and these are at least as good as others in the after market.About shipping and packaging - well packaged from Webike.Any concerns, cautions, or advice when purchasing - On the Webike pages it says to make sure you buy the forks legs for the correct version of the RD/RZ that you have. It lists the options as 29L, 51L, 1AR, and 3HM. If you are not in Japan you may not know what these models are and how they relate to your bike, but its very important that you buy the correct legs for your fork. I advise that you should look online to find the models listed and what they look like compared to your bike, then also physically check your fork legs as you may have the wrong ones fitted by a previous owner.View Detail
About quality and texture - The foam and the cover are well made. The foam is the correct density and the cover is thick and the stamping is nicely done.About the feeling of use - The foam feels like a brand new Yamaha seat (so much better than your old well used 40year old, collapsed foam) and the material of the cover is not slippery when riding and it grabs the rider well.Products to buy together - There is also a grab strap available on the website if you want to add that. Daytona also offer a fully built version of this seat with base and grab handle for those who dont want to resuse their original seat base.Difficulty of installation - The foam and the cover both fit the original base very well with no problems. Fitting any cover is a bit of a game but its worth noting that even though this is a thick cover that it stretches well and fits properly so I didnt find it a particularly hard cover to fit.Cost performance and comparison with other products - The foam is at least as good as the other foams available in Europe, and the cover is thicker and better made in my view that other covers I have fitted.About shipping and packaging - Well packed by Webike and comes with what looks like a large showercap gathered plastic cover which is good to keep and put on the seat when storing your bike.Any concerns, cautions, or advice when purchasing - For those outside of Japan, this is the Japanese 4L3 style cover so has embossed pattern on the top, running the length of the seat. This may or many not be an issue for you as it is not the smooth original style of your seat's original cover if you have say a 4L0, 4L1, 5E0, 5E1 etc.View Detail
About quality and texture - The quality is generally really good. The light is well made and comes complete with bulb and side light holder and builb. Its only let down by some small bubbles in the glass. In talking with Webike, Marchal was contacted and it seems this part of the manufacturing process and most of their products have this. Its not seen as a fault by Marchal so I decided to keep the light and use it as I wanted this look for my bike.About the feeling of use - Looks and good when fitted and worked well with the normal connectors, not brighter than OEM or anything, just cooler!Products to buy together - nothing else is needed, its all in the box.Difficulty of installation - Actually very simple. clip the old light out of the bezel and put the new one in. I fitted this to an 80-82 RZ250 (LC / Elsie) and it fitted with no problems. It is not listed as fitting that bike but it fits fine.Cost performance and comparison with other products - This is the cheapest Marchal light unit and if you want a Marchal then you wont buy another light anyway. Its not a cheaply made product so in my view is worth the money.About shipping and packaging - came boxed well from Marchal and was wrapped well by webike. Arrived fine.Any concerns, cautions, or advice when purchasing - The bubbles are small in the glass but they are probably there in all lights, just be aware you may have them. View Detail
