At the very begining, I thought i don't need it, however after I odre my bike a few times I decided to buy this shift indicator immediately, it is very usefull and no more wrong shift anymore. Highly revommended.
All-in-one, nothing else was needed, and it was selected because it was a sensitive type.
While we are generally satisfied, we are a little disappointed in the following two points. (especially the second point, which I have not seen anywhere else)
The letters are barely visible in the sunlight during the day.
When I blip ping and downshift at around 4000 rpm with the engine running at that rpm, I get the following results. Every so often, the Shift display remains the same as the original. If I accelerate or decelerate a little from that state, the correct Shift is displayed, but I wonder why this is the case even though it is a sensor type. If I drop to 3→2→1 at about 50km/h toward the Red signal, the display will remain at 3 or 2 even though I am in first gear.
I don't think it will bother you if you return to first gear after a stop, or if you Downshift at a slightly lower rpm.
Regarding the second point, I will take a video and contact the Manufacturer.View Detail
[Work difficulty] If you don't have trouble removing Cowl, which is a drawback of CT125, it's not difficult. It is a little more difficult than SP Mukawa or OMPID because of the time and effort required to change the sensor.
It is described very carefully on the manufacturer's website, so if you follow the instructions, the work should be finished without any problems.
[Notes] The installation method on the website is explained with minimum parts removal, which makes the work more difficult. If you take the time and effort to get rid of as much Cowl as possible, there is very little difficult work involved. Personally, OEMSensor Wiring is the most difficult, because it is manual work that cannot be seen on the CowlReverse side.
In some cases, it is necessary to remove the Change Pedal in order to remove the Sprocket cover. To be precise, you can loosen the fixed bolt of Pedal and pull it out to the full footpeg.
[Performance Evaluation There is no Large-like Time lag after Gear changing, and the display of GEAR changes, so it is almost a perfect score as performance. However, there is a scene where it is difficult to see the Red of the liquid crystal display part and the Red of the issuing part (especially when carrying the sun).
In addition to the fact that the time lag after the gear change is very large because of the backward calculation, the meter of Takekawa and OPMID The disadvantage is that GEAR cannot be displayed at a stop without a signal.
As you can see in the image, the Indicator [1] in the MukawaMeter, even though it displays the GEAR. The part of the [---] The only thing that is shown on the screen. Recommended for those who feel the need to check when stopping.
Please note that the Bracket that the Indicator is attached to is not included in the kit, but is a self-made part.View Detail
There is no need to order OEM parts for the CUB. To say the installation of the Kit is a bit odd, but the installation itself is easy because most of it comes from the removal and installation of OEM parts. The instruction manual is simple, but the manufacturer's blog shows detailed installation instructions, so I had to follow the instructions as I went along. Because protective film was not pasted on the Monitor part, it was damaged when selecting the installation place at the time of installation. However, in practical use there is no problem. Visibility of the Monitor part is generally good, but it is difficult to see at the time of direct sunlight because LED is Red indication of RedBack. I don't understand Honda's intention to omit this function, but I thank Protec for reviving it.View Detail

This product is fairly easy to install by following the online instructions. Period.BUUUT for the USA JA 65 trails, it will read backwards because our bikes are geared opposite from the rest of the world. It will read neutral 4321 instead of neutral, 1234. In the end after some head scratching, I figured out that I needed to cut the wires going to the magnetic sensor harness That's already installed on the bike and splice the wires by doing trial and error until it read correctly. After that it works perfectly. It will not have an indicator to shift up and they do mention that in the instructions. The harness to the magnet on the trail is very short, so if you're going to cut and splice, I would recommend you get some heat, shrink, connectors, or consider getting an aftermarket sensor that has longer wire. Luckily, I had one of these lying around.View Detail
