I used to leave it to the store every time I changed the Chain, but now that I own more units, I decided to do it myself.
The Instruction Manual is very thorough and easy to understand, and the CrimpDataetc. for each ChainManufacturer is very helpful.
If you follow the Instruction Manual, even first-time users should be able to work without problems.View Detail
I decided to try Chain cut & Crimp by myself since it costs 2 to 3 thousand yen at the store.
The Instruction Manual describes the work procedure in detail, so there are no problems if you follow the Instruction Manual.
I think it takes a bit of skill to determine the strength of the Crimp. I worked with the chain hanging in the air on the sprocket, but I should have put both the chain and the tools on the ground.View Detail
No strength to cut chain.
The body side was weak and the screw broke with light force, making it unusable.View Detail
I bought this to replace my Sprocket and Chain. I'm a guy who does a lot of my own maintenance, but this is my first Chain. This is the first time I've used Chain. The instructions are easy to understand and helpful. It was easy to install. I think it is better to think about the order of the Rose according to your vehicle in advance. At first I was not sure about the half price one, but it was the right choice. I thought that the tool for press fitting should be good.View Detail
I had a chain exchanged at the shop before, but it caused trouble when I was out of town, and since then I've been exchanging chains myself.
This GUARD LOCK chain tool makes it relatively easy to DIY chain cut, plate press fit and pin head tabs.
I always use a grinder to grind the head down to flat before chain cutting. I don't know if I can cut well with the head as it is.
If you scrape down to Flat, you can Chain cut very easily and with light force. You don't need to be stupid to do it. =I recommend it.
Press-fitting the plate is easy as long as the proper positioning is done. The key is to carefully measure the plate width with a caliper. Once the width is measured, tighten the bolt as much as necessary, taking the bolt pitch into consideration.
Pin head tsubushi is uncomfortable at first because you don't know if you are doing it right. This is the work that needs to get used to. But if you proceed carefully while checking the dimensions of the important points with Caliper, you will not fail.
Thus, if you work one by one carefully, you can replace the Chain reliably even by DIY. I think it is enough performance as a tool for personal use. As for the durability, I have used it more than 5 times and I have no problem at all. (It might be good to have Spare for long PinBolt for Chain cut.
The chain is a very important safety component as well as the brake system. Understand the structure, prepare the necessary equipment such as Caliper, and do the DIY work responsibly.View Detail
